Please refer to the Web page listed above to obtain these prerequisites. IBM Communications Server for Windows NT version 6.0.2 PROBLEM(s) FIXED JR14336 Add SEND_TERM_SELF node parameter Adds support for SEND_TERM_SELF value as a node attribute: o SEND_TERM_SELF is configurable in .acg files o SEND_TERM_SELF .acg file value preserved over use of the node config GUI. o SEND_TERM_SELF .acg file value used to start the node. JR13599 Unable to establish session if more than 255 partner LUs defined JR14005 Unable To Start Node when Dependent LU 6.2 is configured with DLUR JR14182 Configuration Verification Fails with PCS7201E FILES INCLUDED This APAR fix is self extracting and contains the following files: SHIPPED (fn.ft) REPLACES RAPISERVER.EXE z:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\RAPISERVER.EXE ADRAPICLIENT.DLL x:\IBMCS\ADRAPICLIENT.DLL ADRAPIUTIL.DLL x:\IBMCS\ADRAPIUTIL.DLL EMUTOCFG.DLL x:\IBMCS\EMUTOCFG.DLL FMTNODE.DLL x:\IBMCS\FMTNODE.DLL FMTNOPS.DLL x:\IBMCS\FMTNOPS.DLL NODEINIT.DLL x:\IBMCS\NODEINIT.DLL OCDCONVT.DLL x:\IBMCS\OCDCONVT.DLL PCS_AGNT.EXE x:\IBMCS\PCS_AGNT.EXE PCSCAPI.DLL x:\IBMCS\PCSCAPI.DLL PCSCFG.EXE x:\IBMCS\PCSCFG.EXE SPELLING.DLL x:\IBMCS\SPELLING.DLL VACGCON.EXE x:\IBMCS\VACGCON.EXE VACGVERF.DLL x:\IBMCS\VACGVERF.DLL ADRAPISTUBS.DLL x:\IBMCS\ADRAPISTUBS.DLL FMTCAPI.DLL X:\IBMCS\FMTCAPI.DLL OCDNTS50.DAT X:\IBMCS\OCDNTS50.DAT Instfix.bat JR14336.txt (this readme file) where x:\ibmcs is the Communications Server install directory and z:\winnt is the Windows NT install directory. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Installing the fix on the system: 1) Be SURE you have downloaded the JR14336.exe in BINARY format. 2) Create a temporary directory and copy JR14336.exe into the temporary directory and run the file to uncompress it. 3) Stop Communications Server for Windows NT (including your node, Node Operations, Node Configuration, Log Viewer, and any other CS/NT components you have started). Note that there may still be CS/NT-related services running on the machine after stopping these applications, but this is normal and will not affect the installation of this fix package. IMPORTANT! This is an APAR fix, so carefully compare the dates of the parts supplied with this APAR fix with the dates of the parts you are replacing. If ANY of the parts being replaced are more recent than the parts shipped with this APAR discontinue the installation of this fix and contact Customer Support for clarification. 4) Run the INSTFIX.BAT file specifying as parameters the path where CS/NT is installed and the path where Windows NT is installed. For example, you might type: INSTFIX.BAT d:\ibmcs c:\winnt and then press Enter. This batch file will rename the CS/NT files being replaced, copy in the new files, and update the server's registry (if necessary) to take advantage of the new files. The previous versions of the files will have ".preJR14336" appended to their filenames to make them unique. 5) Shutdown and Restart the CS/NT server machine. 6) Restart your CS/NT node. SPECIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Instructions for implementing the fix for JR14336: This fix allows you to configure a new SEND_TERM_SELF value in the node definition stanza within the configuration (.ACG) file. The SEND_TERM_SELF value provides a means by which you can request that a TERM_SELF be sent, rather than the default of an UNBIND, to bring down the PLU-SLU session. To change this value from the default, you would add the SEND_TERM_SELF field value within the node definition stanza in the (.ACG) configuration file. It should occur just after the REGISTER_WITH_NN field. Attached are steps you can use to change SEND_TERM_SELF: Step 1: Verify your configuration file using a command like the following in a command window: vacgcon acgfile.acg (acgfile = your configuration filename) This step provides for seeding the configuration file with the appropriate SEND_TERM_SELF syntax. You will likely have to specify the fully qualified path to your configuration file, or change the command window directory to that for the configuration file. Step 2: Using an editor, like NOTEPAD for example, you can view the contents of the configuration file where you should now see SEND_TERM_SELF keyword under the NODE stanza. For example, you should see something similar to the following: NODE=( . . REGISTER_WITH_NN=ALL SEND_TERM_SELF=0 . . ) Using the editor, you can change the value of the SEND_TERM_SELF keyword in ACG file by altering the number value of the SEND_TERM_SELF keyword. An encoding of SEND_TERM_SELF=0, the default, requests an UNBIND be sent to bring down the PLU-SLU session. An encoding of SEND_TERM_SELF=1 requests an TERM_SELF be sent to bring down the PLU-SLU session. Step 3: After you have made your change, reverify your configuration file again using the command suggested in step 1 above. The new value should now be used when you restart the node using the altered configuration file. However, you will not be able to verify that it is in effect using the SNA Node Operations GUI because that program has not yet been updated with support to display the new SEND_TERM_SELF value as a node attribute.
