This ³ ³ package can be distributed to any one who has a license for ³ ³ this product. ³ ³ ³ +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ PREREQUISITES : IBM Communications Server for Windows NT version 5.01 and the fix for APAR JR12583. PROBLEMS FIXED: APAR Number Description JR12539 Allow each CPI-C program to individually specify a local LU alias. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: JR12539.EXE is a self-extracting file containing the shipped executables. The fix for JR12539 contained in this package REQUIRES the fix for JR12583 to be previously installed on the CSNT 5.01 server. The PARTS LIST is as follows: SHIPPED (fn ft) REPLACES wcpic32.dll w:\winnt\system32\wcpic32.dll pcscfg.exe c:\ibmcs\pcscfg.exe JR12539.txt (this readme file) where w:\winnt is the directory where the Windows NT operating system is installed and where c:\ibmcs is the directory where IBM Communications Server for Windows NT is installed. Installing the fix on the system: 1) Be SURE you have downloaded the JR12539.exe file in BINARY format. Also, verify that you have already installed the fix for APAR JR12583 on your CSNT 5.01 server. 2) Create a temporary directory, copy JR12539.exe into the temporary directory, and run the file to uncompress it. 3) Stop Communications Server for Windows NT (including your node, Node Operations, Node Configuration, Log Viewer, and any other CS/NT components you have started). Note that there may still be CS/NT-related services running on the machine after stopping these applications, but this is normal and will not affect the installation of this fix package. 4) To back up your existing versions of the files listed in the REPLACES section of the above parts list, rename them using the ren command. For example, "ren PCSCFG.EXE *.preJR12539". 5) Copy the new files from the temporary directory to the appropriate directory to take the place of the old files. 6) Shutdown and Restart the CS/NT server machine. 7) Restart your CS/NT node. Instructions for implementing this fix: To take advantage of this fix to specify a different local LU for each CPIC application running on the CS/NT server, add a USER_DATA field in the CPIC_SIDE_INFO definition stanza within the configuration file (.ACG file). Add the USER_DATA field to the end of the stanza (before the closing parenthesis) and set it equal to the following string: LLU_ALIAS=xxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxx is the local LU alias to use. This string must contain the keyword LLU_ALIAS in all uppercase characters, followed by the equals sign, then the LU alias. Note that the LU alias value is case sensitive. There can be no spaces or tabs between LLU_ALIAS and the following equals sign or between the equals sign and the LU alias value. The LU alias does not have to be padded with spaces. This string may appear anywhere in the USER_DATA field (i.e. may be preceeded by other strings), but the total length of the entire USER_DATA string may not exceed 32 characters. For example: CPIC_SIDE_INFO=( SYM_DEST_NAME=MYDEST . . . USER_DATA= LLU_ALIAS=myalias ) where the local LU alias "myalias" must be configured in a Local LU 6.2 LU definition. All CPI-C applications using this CPIC_SIDE_INFO definition will now use the local LU designated by "myalias" when establishing sessions.
