To correct the server itself, CSNIA.DLL is the only file that must be replaced on the server. However, for this fix to be effective, both the server fix and the client fix must be installed. Installing the fix on the system: 1) Be SURE you have downloaded the JR10466.exe file in BINARY format. 2) Create a Temp directory and copy JR10466.exe into the temporary directory and run the file to uncompress it. You should see these four files : README.TXT, CSNIA.DLL, 95CLIENT.EXE, NTCLIENT.EXE 3) Create a backup for the existing versions of the files you are about to replace. You can reference the parts list for a list of these files. 4) Installing the server fix: a) Stop Communications Server for Windows NT (including your node, Node Operations, Node Configuration, Log Viewer, and any other CS/NT components you have started). Note that there may still be CS/NT-related services running on the machine after stopping these applications, but this is normal and will not affect the installation of this fix package. b)Copy the new versions of the files from the temporary directory to the directories where CS/NT installed them. CSNIA.DLL is the only file that must be replaced for the server. You will need to copy this file into CS/NT's directory, by default, this is in the directory IBMCS. 5) Installing for the clients: a) Stop any application that uses CS/NT's client API. b) Copy the new versions of the files from the temporary directory to the directories where CS/NT installed them. To eliminate confusion with the files containing the corrections for the Windows 95 client and the Windows NT client, we have placed them in their own self-extracting executable - 95client.exe and ntclient.exe. The files in ntclient.exe relate to the Windows NT client fix, whereas the files in 95client.exe relate to the Windows 95 client fix. c)The code for any CS/NT clients will be located, by default, on the client's hard drive in the directory CSNTAPI. Choose the correct executable for your client and move it to the directory CSNTAPI. Run the executable to allow the corrected files to replace the older files. 6) Shutdown and Restart the CS/NT server machine or client PC. 7) Restart your CS/NT node and connection.
