Readme for 3.0.5 fixpak

This readme file provides information necessary to install and use the VisualAge COBOL Version 3.0.5 fixpak, which upgrades Version 3.0.2 or later to Version 3.0.5.

This fixpak also includes PTF IP22436 for the Foreign File System server. See UPDT390.HTM for information on applying the PTF.

You must have VisualAge COBOL Version 3.0.2 or later installed before you apply this fixpak. Detailed install instructions for Version 3.0.2 are included in INSTWIN.HTM and INST390.HTM on the Version 3.0.2 or Version 3.0.4 CD-ROM.

Install instructions for Version 3.0.5

To install this fixpak, do the following steps:

1. Unzip the fixpak into a folder on your workstation.
2. Select Start -> Run, and type x:\fixpak\setup.exe, where x:\fixpak is the location of the unzipped fixpak. The IBM VisualAge COBOL Setup window opens.
3. Select Repair and click Next.
4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. Your original installation directory is retained.
5. Shut down and restart your computer.
6. If you had any shortcuts, associations, or links to a previous installation of IBM VisualAge COBOL on your workstation, you should verify them now.

This procedure is the same for basic and network installations. For example, if Version 3.0.2 was installed as a network installation on a network server, following this procedure will automatically install Version 3.0.5 as a network installation. Shared install clients do not need to make any updates.
