Support is provided for Solaris, AIX, and Windows NT. The execution of these programs will not affect the installation of IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3 or the user-generated data. This CD-ROM contains: -- /NT/lum_140200.exe - The self extracting InstallShield program for generating the Windows NT 60-day trial license -- /AIX/IBMIMTCS.PKG - The package file containing the AIX file sets -- /Solaris/lum_140200.tar - The package file containing the Solaris file sets -- README.TXT - This file ========================= Installation instructions ========================= AIX: ------- 1.Login as root 2.Insert the IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. 3.Mount the CD-ROM file system. If you do not have a CD-ROM file system, create one using the the following commands: crfs -v cdrfs -d /dev/cd0 -m /cdrom -pro mount /cdrom 4.Create a temporary directory (e.g. /tmp/lum_140200) in a file system (here: e.g. /tmp) with a minimum of 5MB free space. 5.Switch to this temporary directory and create symbolic links to all of the files on the CD-ROM: cd /tmp/lum_140200 ln -s /cdrom/* . ln -s /cdrom/.toc . 6.Remove the link to the file IBMIMTCS.PKG: rm IBMIMTCS.PKG 7.Download the file IBMIMTCS.PKG to this temporary directory. (Note: except for the file IBMIMTCS.PKG, this directory contains symbolic links only.) 8.Install IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3 from the temporary directory, for example, /tmp/lum_140200, using SMIT (or SMITTY). Solaris: ----------- 1.Login as root. 2.Insert the IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM file system is mounted automatically by the automounter. 3.Create a temporary directory (e.g. /tmp/lum_140200) in a file system (here: e.g. /tmp) with a minimum of 5MB free space 4.Switch to this temporary directory and create symbolic links to all of the files on the CD-ROM: cd /tmp/lum_140200 ln -s /cdrom/* . 5.Remove the link to the directory IBMIMTTB: rm IBMIMTTB 6.Remove the link to the script "install". rm install 7.Download the file lum_140200.tar to this temporary directory and untar it (tar -xvf ). (Note: except for the file IBMIMTTB.PKG, this directory contains symbolic links only.) 8.Install IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3 from the temporary directory, for example, /tmp/lum_14020. Windows NT 4.0: ------------------- 1.Login as Administrator and install IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3. All selected components will be installed on the target system except for the 60-day trial license (i.e. the file named "nodelock"). 2.Download the executable file lum_140200.exe to a temporary directory on the workstation where you installed IBM Intelligent Miner for Text V2.3. 3.Switch to the temporary dirctory where you downloaded the lum_140200.exe and execute this file.
