The FMIDs from PSF/MVS that are included in the base of OS/390 R2 are: HPRF220 - PSF base JPRF223 - PSF resources None of the following functions are part of the OS/390 base: AFP Conversion and Indexing Facility (HQN2110) AFP API (HQN2112) Compatibility fonts (JPRF172, JPRF174, JPRF1C7, JPRF1J1, JPRF1J3) Additionally, these separately orderable features of PSF/MVS are not included in the OS/390 R2 base: Page Printer Migration Programs (PPMP) (HPRF224) MVS Download (JPRF225) NetSpool (HPRF226) AFP Upload for AIX (HPRF227) IP PrintWay (HM0S100) Customers must be licensed to PSF/MVS 5695-040 and include it in their ServerPac, SystemPac, or SIE order when installing OS/390 using one of these system replace installation methods. Additionally, full PSF function must be enabled by setting the correct values in the IFAPRDxx PARMLIB member, as described in the Program Directory for PSF/MVS. Font Considerations: Existing PSF/MVS customers who are migrating to OS/390 R2 should be aware of the following font considerations: 1. Both the Softcopy Print support in OS/390 R2 and PSF/MVS supply fonts. These fonts can coexist in the same SMP/E zones. There are intersections, as described below. 2. The core fonts that previously shipped with PSF/MVS were withdrawn in May, 1995. A subset of the core fonts (Latin1) are shipped as part of the OS/390 R2 base. Customers desiring a full complement of fonts to replace their existing fonts should include the AFP Font Collection, 5648-B33, in their ServerPac, SystemPac or SIE order. The following information describes the relationships between the font FMIDs shipped with PSF/MVS and with OS/390 base. Sample JCL: FMID H0HL140 from OS/390 base will DEL and SUP FMID JPRF1J3 from PSF. Both FMIDs contain sample install jobs. The JCL in H0HL140 is improved over the version that was shipped with JPRF1J3. The sample jobs in H0HL140 will replace the sample jobs that were shipped in JPRF1J3. Code Pages: FMIDs H0HL141 and H0HL150 shipped as part of OS/390 Softcopy Print support provide code pages for 240 dpi and 300 dpi printers, respectively. Both FMIDs VERSION JPRF172, the code page FMID for the compatibility fonts of PSF/MVS. This is not a problem, as either set of code pages can be used with the compatibility fonts in FMIDs JPRF174 and JPRF1J1.
