(C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1999 6 5.0 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS The following sections identify the system requirements for installing and activating Infoprint Server Transforms. The following terminology is used: Driving system: the system used to install the program. Target system: the system on which the program is installed. In many cases, the same system can be used as both a driving system and a target system. However, you may want to set up a clone of your system to use as a target system by making a separate IPL-able copy of the running system. The clone should include copies of all system libraries that SMP/E updates, copies of the SMP/E CSI data sets that describe the system libraries, and your PARMLIB and PROCLIB. Some cases where two systems should be used include the following: When installing a new level of a product that is already installed, the new product will delete the old one. By installing onto a separate target system, you can test the new product while still keeping the old one in production. When installing a product that shares libraries or load modules with other products, the installation can disrupt the other products. Installing onto a test system or clone will allow you to assess these impacts without disrupting your production system. 5.1 DRIVING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS This section describes the environment of the driving system required to install Infoprint Server Transforms. 5.1.1 MACHINE REQUIREMENTS The driving system can run in any hardware environment that supports the required software. 5.1.2 PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS The driving system requirements for Infoprint Server Transforms are identical to the driving system requirements for Wave 2 of OS/390 R8, as documented in OS/390 Planning for Installation, GC28-1726. These requirements are summarized in Figure 6 on page 8. (C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1999 7 ׯ | Figure 6. These systems can be other systems in a multisystem environment (not necessarily sysplex), a shared DASD environment (such as test and production), or systems that reuse the same DASD at different time intervals. No toleration/coexistence requisites exist for Infoprint Server Transforms. 5.2.2.4 INCOMPATIBILITY (NEGATIVE) REQUISITES A negative requisite identifies products which must not be installed on the same system as this product. No negative requisites exist for Infoprint Server Transforms. 5.2.3 DASD STORAGE REQUIREMENTS Infoprint Server Transforms libraries can reside on 3380 and 3390 DASD. Figure 9 lists the total space required for each type of library. ׯ | Figure 9. Total DASD Space Required by Infoprint Server Transforms | ׯ | | | LIBRARY TYPE | TOTAL SPACE REQUIRED | ׯ | | | | Target | 1 3390 Track | ׯ | | | | Distribution | 1056 3390 Tracks | ׯ | | | | HFS | 955 3390 Tracks | ר NOTES: Installation Requirements and Considerations 9 1. The data set sizes specified contain 20% extra space. You may wish to revise these numbers based on your plans for adding additional function or service. 2. IBM recommends use of system determined block sizes for efficient DASD utilization for all non-RECFM U data sets. For RECFM U data sets, IBM recommends a block size of 32760, which is the most efficient from a performance and DASD utilization perspective. 3. Abbreviations used for the data set type are: U Unique data set used by only the FMIDs listed. In order to determine the correct storage needed for this data set, this table provides all required information; no other tables (or program directories) need to be referenced for the data set size. S Shared data set used by more than the FMIDs listed. In order to determine the correct storage needed for this data set, the storage size given in this table needs to be added to other tables (perhaps in other program directories). If the data set already exists, it must have enough free space to accommodate the storage size given in this table. If you currently have a previous release of this product installed in these libraries, the installation of this release will delete the old one and reclaim the space used by the old release and any service that had been installed. You can determine whether or not these libraries have enough space by deleting the old release with a dummy function, compressing the libraries, and comparing the space requirements with the free space in the libraries. For more information on the names and sizes of the required data sets, please refer to 6.1.8, "Allocate SMP/E Target and Distribution Libraries and Paths" on page 15. ׯ | Figure 10. Infoprint Server Transforms shares target and distribution libraries and HFS paths with Infoprint Server. You must run the ALLOC, DDDEF, and MKDIR jobs for Infoprint Server before you can install Infoprint Server Transforms. The level of SMP/E required to install Infoprint Server Transforms must be at least OS/390 Release 7 SMP/E. If you do not have OS/390 R7 SMP/E or higher on your driving system, and you are installing Infoprint Server Transforms concurrently with the installation of OS/390 Release 8, you can steplib (with a STEPLIB DD statement) to SYS1.MIGLIB on your OS/390 R8 target system. Ensure that the target system's SYS1.MIGLIB data set is APF-authorized on the driving system. Infoprint Server Transforms installs into the HFS. The user ID that you use must be: A superuser (UID=0), or a member of the BPX.SUPERUSER facility class. Permitted read access to facility classes BPX.FILEATTR.AFP and BPX.FILEATTR.PROGCTL or BPX.FILEATTR.* if you choose to use a generic facility for both facility classes. In order to define these facility classes, you can use the commands provided in SYS1.SAMPLIB member BPXISEC1. You may install Infoprint Server Transforms concurrently with or after installing Wave 2 of OS/390 Version 2 Release 8 or higher. You must meet the requirements for installing Wave 2 of OS/390 Release 8, as described in 5.1.2, "Programming Requirements" on page 7, including activation of the OMVS address space on the driving system. Installation Requirements and Considerations 12 6.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS This chapter describes the installation method and the step-by-step procedures to install and to activate the functions of Infoprint Server Transforms. Please note the following: If you want to install Infoprint Server Transforms into its own SMP/E environment, consult the SMP/E manuals for instructions on creating and initializing the SMPCSI and the SMP/E control data sets. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED. YOU SHOULD INSTALL INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS INTO THE SAME SMP/E ZONES WHERE YOU INSTALLED OS/390 RELEASE 8 OR HIGHER. Sample jobs have been provided to help perform some or all of the installation tasks. The SMP/E jobs assume that all DDDEF entries required for SMP/E execution have been defined in the appropriate zones. The SMP/E dialogs may be used instead of the sample jobs to accomplish the SMP/E installation steps. 6.1 INSTALLING INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS 6.1.1 SMP/E CONSIDERATIONS FOR INSTALLING INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS This release of Infoprint Server Transforms is installed using the SMP/E RECEIVE, APPLY, and ACCEPT commands. The SMP/E dialogs may be used to accomplish the SMP/E installation steps. REMINDER: You must use OS/390 R7 SMP/E or higher to install Infoprint Server Transforms. See 5.4, "Special Considerations" on page 12 for further information. An SMP/E UTILITY entry for the binder is required. You can specify any of these program names in the UTILITY entry: IEWBLINK, HEWL, IEWL, LINKEDIT, or HEWLH096. (The linkage editor, which uses the names HEWLKED, HEWLF064, IEFLF440, IEWLF880, and IEWLF128 cannot be used.) 6.1.2 SMP/E ENVIRONMENT All SMP/E installation jobs provided assume that all necessary DD statements for the execution of SMP/E are defined using DDDEFs. Sample jobs are provided to assist you in installing Infoprint Server Transforms. After the RECEIVE step has been completed, the sample jobs can be found in SMPTLIB: IBM.HXFR100.F1. Make a copy of these jobs in your own library and modify them to use during the installation of Infoprint Server Transforms. The sample jobs are: AOPDDEFX Sample job to define SMP/E DDDEFs AOPISMKX Sample job to invoke the supplied AOPMKDIX EXEC AOPMKDIX REXX EXEC to define HFS directories In the sample SMP/E jobs provided, the name of the SMP/E CSI is "#GLOBALCSI". The global zone name in the SMP/E CSI is "GLOBAL". The distribution zone name is "#DZONE". The target zone name is "#TZONE". The sample jobs should be updated to reflect the CSI and zone names used at your installation. (C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1999 13 6.1.3 SMP/E OPTIONS SUBENTRY VALUES The recommended values for some SMP/E CSI subentries are shown in Figure 15 on page 14. Use of values lower than these may result in failures in the installation process. DSSPACE is a subentry in the GLOBAL options entry. PEMAX is a subentry of the GENERAL entry in the GLOBAL options entry. Refer to the SMP/E manuals for instructions on updating the global zone. ׯ | Figure 15. SMP/E Options Subentry Values | ׯ | | | SUB-ENTRY | VALUE | COMMENT | ׯ | | | | | DSSPACE | 100,50,15 | | ׯ | | | | | PEMAX | 9999 | The SMP/E default is larger than | | | | what can be specified here | ר 6.1.4 SMP/E CALLLIBS PROCESSING Infoprint Server Transforms uses the CALLLIBS function to resolve external references during installation. When Infoprint Server Transforms is installed, ensure the following: Verify that the SMP/E SMPLTS data set has been allocated. Refer to SMP/E Reference for information on allocating the SMPLTS data set. NOTE: For Infoprint Server Transforms, 20 cylinders of 3380/3390 DASD space is adequate for the SMPLTS. Provide DDDEFs for the following libraries: CSSLIB SCEELKED NOTE: The DDDEFs above are used only to resolve the link-edit for Infoprint Server Transforms using CALLLIBS. These data sets are not updated during the installation of Infoprint Server Transforms. 6.1.5 UNLOAD THE SAMPLE JCL FROM THE PRODUCT TAPE Sample installation jobs are provided on the distribution tape to help you install Infoprint Server Transforms. The following sample JCL will copy the Infoprint Server Transforms jobs from the tape. Add a job card and modify the parameters in boldface to uppercase values to meet your site's requirements before submitting. //STEP1 EXEC PGM=IEBCOPY //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=A //IN DD DSN=IBM.HXFR100.F1,UNIT=TUNIT,VOL=SER=XFR100, // LABEL=(2,SL),DISP=(OLD,KEEP) //OUT DD DSNAME=JCL-LIBRARY-NAME, // DISP=(NEW,CATLG,DELETE), // VOL=SER=DASDVOL,UNIT=SYSALLDA, // DCB=*.STEP1.IN,SPACE=(TRK,(1,1,1)) //SYSUT3 DD UNIT=SYSDA,SPACE=(CYL,(1,1)) //SYSIN DD * COPY INDD=IN,OUTDD=OUT /* where TUNIT is the unit value matching the product tape or cartridge, JCL-LIBRARY-NAME is the name of the data set where the sample jobs will reside, and DASDVOL is the volume serial of the DASD device where the data set will reside. You can also access the sample installation jobs by performing an SMP/E RECEIVE for FMID HXFR100, and then copying the jobs from dataset HLQ.IBM.HXFR100.F1 to a work dataset for editing and submission. Installation Instructions 14 6.1.6 PERFORM SMP/E RECEIVE Perform the SMP/E RECEIVE for Infoprint Server Transforms. Use the following commands in the RECEIVE job: SET BDY(GLOBAL). RECEIVE S(HXFR100) SYSMOD. NOTE: if you obtained Infoprint Server Transforms as part of a CBPDO, you can use the RCVPDO job found in the CBPDO RIMLIB data set to RECEIVE the Infoprint Server Transforms FMIDs as well as any service, HOLDDATA, or preventive service planning (PSP) information included on the CBPDO tape. For more information, refer to the documentation included with the CBPDO. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. 6.1.7 RECEIVE THE CUMULATIVE SERVICE TAPE (IF PROVIDED) A cumulative service tape may be shipped with the product package. If no cumulative service tape is shipped or if the product is received by CBPDO, skip this section. Figure 16 contains a sample job to RECEIVE the PTFs and HOLDDATA from the cumulative service tape. Create JCL similar to this sample, modifying the job to specify the appropriate parameters for your installation. If any of the PTFs on the tape have a system hold by the ++HOLD SYSTEM modification control statement with a reason ID equal to UCLIN, file 6 of the cumulative service tape will contain the UCLIN for that PTF. The instructions for the UCLIN are contained in the cover letter of the PTF. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. ׯ | | | //AOPRCVC JOB 'account #','name',MSGLEVEL=(1,1) | | //*************************************************** | | //* RECEIVE CUMULATIVE SERVICE DATA. * | | //* MAKE THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS: * | | //* 1) CHANGE #GLOBALCSI TO THE DATA SET NAME OF * | | //* YOUR GLOBAL CSI DATA SET * | | //* 2) CHANGE tape TO A VALID TAPE UNIT NAME * | | //* 2) CHANGE sssssss TO A VALID SOURCEID NAME * | | //*************************************************** | | //RECEIVE EXEC PGM=GIMSMP,REGION=4096K | | //SMPCSI DD DSN=#GLOBALCSI, | | // DISP=SHR | | //SMPHOLD DD UNIT=tape,LABEL=(4,NL),DISP=SHR, | | // VOL=SER=CUMTAP, | | // DCB=(RECFM=FB,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=7200) | | //SMPPTFIN DD UNIT=tape,LABEL=(1,NL),DISP=SHR, | | // VOL=SER=CUMTAP, | | // DCB=(RECFM=FB,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=7200) | | //SMP.SMPCNTL DD * | | SET BDY(GLOBAL). | | RECEIVE SYSMODS HOLDDATA SOURCEID(sssssss). | | /* | | | ר Figure 16. RECEIVE Job for Cumulative Service Tape 6.1.8 ALLOCATE SMP/E TARGET AND DISTRIBUTION LIBRARIES AND PATHS The SMP/E Target and Distribution Libraries for Infoprint Server Transforms are allocated by sample job AOPALLOC provided with the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390. If you have not previously installed Infoprint Server, you should run the AOPALLOC job from FMID HOPI280 at this time. Installation Instructions 15 6.1.9 CREATE DDDEF ENTRIES Some DDDEFs used by Infoprint Server Transforms are supplied with the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390. You must run both the AOPDDDEF job provided with Infoprint Server and the AOPDDEFX job provided with HXFR100 before you can run the APPLY for HXFR100. If you have not previously installed the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390, you should run the AOPDDDEF job and also run AOPDDEFX. You may run AOPDDDEF and AOPDDEFX in any order. Edit and submit sample job AOPDDEFX to create DDDEF entries for the SMP/E target and distribution libraries for Infoprint Server Transforms. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. 6.1.10 DEFINE THE HFS PATHS Some HFS paths used by Infoprint Server Transforms are supplied with the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390. You must run both the AOPISMKD job provided with Infoprint Server and the AOPISMKX job provided with HXFR100 before you can run the APPLY for HXFR100. If you have not previously installed the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390, you should run the AOPISMKD job and also run AOPISMKX. You may run AOPISMKD and AOPISMKX in any order. The sample job AOPISMKX will execute the supplied AOPMKDIX EXEC to define the required HFS paths not previously defined by Infoprint Server. Edit and submit sample job AOPISMKX. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. Figure 17 shows an example of the report produced when the HFS paths are created. ׯ | | | The EXEC ran at 17:31:10 on 19 Jul 1999 | | | | This EXEC completed with Return Code 0 | | | | Created the following directories: | | ================================== | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/ps2afp | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/ps2afp/fonts | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/ps2afp/fonts/IBM | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/sap2afp | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/sap2afp/IBM | | | | Following directories already exist: | | ==================================== | | /usr/lpp/Printsrv/ | | | | Problems creating the following directories: | | ============================================ | | No problems while creating the directories. | | | | End of EXEC. | | | ר Figure 17. Sample Report Output from AOPISMKX job 6.1.11 PERFORM SMP/E APPLY CHECK Perform an SMP/E APPLY CHECK for Infoprint Server Transforms. Use the following command in the APPLY CHECK job, replacing "#tzone" with the name of your target zone: Installation Instructions 16 SET BDY(#tzone). APPLY CHECK S(HXFR100) FORFMID(HXFR100) BYPASS(HOLDSYS,HOLDUSER,HOLDCLASS(UCLREL,ERREL)) GROUPEXTEND. To receive the full benefit of the SMP/E Causer SYSMOD Summary Report, do not bypass the following on the APPLY CHECK: PRE, ID, REQ, and IFREQ. This is because the SMP/E root cause analysis identifies the cause only of ERRORS and not of WARNINGS (SYSMODs that are bypassed are treated as warnings, not errors, by SMP/E). The GROUPEXTEND operand indicates that SMP/E apply all requisite SYSMODs. The requisite SYSMODS might be applicable to other functions. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. 6.1.12 PERFORM SMP/E APPLY Perform an SMP/E APPLY for Infoprint Server Transforms. Use the following command in the APPLY job, replacing "#tzone" with the name of your target zone: SET BDY(#tzone). APPLY S(HXFR100) FORFMID(HXFR100) BYPASS(HOLDCLASS(UCLREL,ERREL)) GROUPEXTEND. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. When using SMP/E CALLLIBS, you will receive warning messages when the load modules are link edited into the SMPLTS data set. For example: IEW2454W SYMBOL xxxxxxxx UNRESOLVED. NO AUTOCALL(NCAL) SPECIFIED IEW2480W EXTERNAL SYMBOL xxxxxxxx OF TYPE LD WAS ALREADY DEFINED AS A SYMBOL OF TYPE LD IN SECTION csectname These warning messages are acceptable. 6.1.13 PERFORM SMP/E ACCEPT CHECK Perform an SMP/E ACCEPT CHECK for Infoprint Server Transforms. Use the following command in the ACCEPT CHECK job, replacing "#dzone" with the name of your distribution zone: SET BDY(#dzone). ACCEPT CHECK S(HXFR100) FORFMID(HXFR100) BYPASS(HOLDSYS,HOLDUSER,HOLDCLASS(UCLREL,ERREL)) GROUPEXTEND. To receive the full benefit of the SMP/E Causer SYSMOD Summary Report, do not bypass the following on the ACCEPT CHECK: PRE, ID, REQ, and IFREQ. This is because the SMP/E root cause analysis identifies the cause only of ERRORS and not of WARNINGS (SYSMODs that are bypassed are treated as warnings, not errors, by SMP/E). The GROUPEXTEND operand indicates that SMP/E accept all requisite SYSMODs. The requisite SYSMODS might be applicable to other functions. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. Installation Instructions 17 6.1.14 PERFORM SMP/E ACCEPT Perform an SMP/E ACCEPT for Infoprint Server Transforms. Use the following command in the ACCEPT job, replacing "#dzone" with the name of your distribution zone: SET BDY(#dzone). ACCEPT S(HXFR100) FORFMID(HXFR100) BYPASS(HOLDCLASS(UCLREL,ERREL)) GROUPEXTEND COMPRESS(ALL). Before using SMP/E to load new distribution libraries, it is recommended that you set the ACCJCLIN indicator in the distribution zone. This will cause entries produced from JCLIN to be saved in the distribution zone whenever a SYSMOD containing inline JCLIN is ACCEPTed. For more information on the ACCJCLIN indicator, see the description of inline JCLIN in the SMP/E manuals. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of 0 should be received. If PTFs containing replacement modules are being ACCEPTed, SMP/E ACCEPT processing will linkedit/bind the modules into the distribution libraries. During this processing, the Binder may issue messages documenting unresolved external references, resulting in a return code of 4 from the ACCEPT step. These messages can be ignored, because the distribution libraries are not executable and the unresolved external references will not affect the executable system libraries. 6.2 ACTIVATING INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS 6.2.1.1 ENABLE INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS Infoprint Server Transforms uses dynamic enablement. A sample IFAPRDxx entry for Infoprint Server Transforms is shown below. Update your active IFAPRDxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB to enable Infoprint Server Transforms, to match these values: PRODUCT OWNER('IBM CORP') NAME('INFOPRINT XFORMS') ID(5697-F51) VERSION(*) RELEASE(*) MOD(*) FEATURENAME('TRANSFORM TO AFP') STATE(ENABLED) For information on OS/390 dynamic enablement, refer to OS/390 MVS Product Management, GC28-1730. 6.2.1.2 CUSTOMIZE INFOPRINT SERVER TRANSFORMS AND THE TRANSFORM MANAGER The Transform Manager component of Infoprint Server is used to invoke the transforms provided in Infoprint Server Transforms. The publications Infoprint Server Customization, G544-5694, and Infoprint Server Operation and Administration, S544-5693, contain the step-by-step procedures to activate the functions of Infoprint Server Transforms.
