It contains information concerning the material and procedures associated with the installation of IP PrintWay. You should read all of this program directory before installing the program and then keep it for future reference. The program directory contains the following sections: 2.0, "Program Materials" on page 3 identifies the basic and optional program materials and documentation for IP PrintWay. 3.0, "Program Support" on page 6 describes the IBM support available for IP PrintWay. 4.0, "Program and Service Level Information" on page 7 lists the APARs (program level) and PTFs (service level) incorporated into IP PrintWay. 5.0, "Installation Requirements and Considerations" on page 9 identifies the resources and considerations for installing and using IP PrintWay. 6.0, "Installation Instructions" on page 16 provides detailed installation instructions for IP PrintWay. It also describes the procedures for activating the functions of IP PrintWay, or refers to appropriate publications. Appendix A, "IP PrintWay Install Logic" on page 24 provides the install logic for IP PrintWay. Appendix B, "PTF Cover Letter Data for Service Level 9929" on page 26 lists the incorporated PTF's cover letters. Before installing IP PrintWay, read 3.2, "Preventive Service Planning" on page 6. This section tells you how to find any updates to the information and procedures in this program directory. If you are installing IP PrintWay using the MVS Custom-Built Product Delivery Offering (CBPDO) (5751-CS3), use the softcopy program directory provided on the CBPDO tape. Your CBPDO contains a softcopy preventive service planning (PSP) upgrade for this product. All service and HOLDDATA for IP PrintWay are included on the CBPDO tape. 1.1 IP PRINTWAY DESCRIPTION IP PrintWay is a robust method of automatically routing JES2 or JES3 print data from your MVS or OS/390 system to printers in your TCP/IP network without changing your application program. It is the strategic replacement for the Network Print Facility (NPF) feature of the MVS TCP/IP product, providing improved function, capacity, performance, and usability. IP PrintWay is capable of addressing printers in heterogenous networks of operating system Line Printer Daemons (LPDs) and printer LPDs which adhere to industry open protocol standards. IP PrintWay will take any data format on the spool and use the LPR/LPD protocol to transport it to another spool or printer. Depending on the options specified, the data will either be left alone (the binary option) or transformed from EBCDIC to ASCII (alternate translation tables may be specified). IP PrintWay can route data to your printer in either of two ways: For maximum flexibility on JES2 systems, and JES3 systems at OS/390 V2R5 or higher, you can specify your host system and printer address directly in your JCL. This gives you dynamic (C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1996, 1999 1 addressing capability for any workstation printer, departmental printer, or system printer in your TCP/IP network. You can select printer destinations which have not been previously defined by the system administrator, thus relieving you of dependencies on other functions to route print jobs within the network. For more centralized control, an update to a routing table can provide the network addressing. 1.2 IP PRINTWAY FMID IP PrintWay consists of the following FMID: HMOS100 Introduction 2 2.0 PROGRAM MATERIALS An IBM program is identified by a program number and a feature number. The program number for IP PrintWay when ordered as a feature of PSF Version 3 for OS/390 is 5655-B17. Installation instructions for cumulative service tapes can be found in the SMP/E publications. If you received this product as part of a CBPDO or a ProductPac, PTFs not incorporated into this release are provided on the tape, and a separate cumulative service tape will not be provided. Program and Service Level Information 8 5.0 INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS The following sections identify the system requirements for installing and activating IP PrintWay. The following terminology is used: Driving system: the system used to install the program. Target system: the system on which the program is installed. In many cases, the same system can be used as both a driving system and a target system. However, you may want to set up a clone of your system to use as a target system by making a separate IPL-able copy of the running system. The clone should include copies of all system libraries that SMP/E updates, copies of the SMP/E CSI data sets that describe the system libraries, and your PARMLIB and PROCLIB. Some cases where two systems should be used include the following: When installing a new level of a product that is already installed, the new product will delete the old one. By installing onto a separate target system, you can test the new product while still keeping the old one in production. When installing a product that shares libraries or load modules with other products, the installation can disrupt the other products. Installing onto a test system or clone will allow you to assess these impacts without disrupting your production system. 5.1 DRIVING SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS This section describes the environment of the driving system required to install IP PrintWay. 5.1.1 MACHINE REQUIREMENTS The driving system can run in any hardware environment that supports the required software. 5.1.2 PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS ׯ | Figure 7. Installation Requisite: A product that is required at installation time. i.e. this product WILL NOT INSTALL successfully unless this requisite is met. This includes products that are specified as REQs, PREs, or CALLLIBs. 2. Run Time Requisite: A product that is NOT required for the successful installation of this product, but IS needed at run time in order for this product to work. ׯ | Figure 8. These systems can be other systems in a multisystem environment (not necessarily sysplex), a shared DASD environment (such as test and production), or systems that reuse the same DASD at different time intervals. IP PrintWay has no toleration/coexistence rquisites. 5.2.2.4 INCOMPATIBILITY (NEGATIVE) REQUISITES A negative requisite identifies products which must not be installed on the same system as this product. IP PrintWay has no negative requisites. However, IP PrintWay cannot be installed in the same SMP/E zones as OS/390 Version 2 Release 8 or higher. See 5.4.2, "Installing IP PrintWay on OS/390 Release 8 or Higher" on page 14 for further information. 5.2.3 DASD STORAGE REQUIREMENTS IP PrintWay libraries can reside on any DASD supported by the operating system. Figure 10 lists the total space required for each type of library. ׯ | Figure 10. Total DASD Space Required by IP PrintWay | ׯ | | | LIBRARY TYPE | TOTAL SPACE REQUIRED | ׯ | | | | Target | 82 tracks on 3390 DASD | ׯ | | | | Distribution | 91 tracks on 3390 DASD | ר NOTES: Installation Requirements and Considerations 11 1. The data set sizes specified contain 15% extra space. You may wish to revise these numbers based on your plans for adding additional function or service. 2. IBM recommends use of system determined blocksizes for efficient DASD utilization for all non-RECFM U data sets. For RECFM U data sets, IBM recommends a blocksize of 32760, which is the most efficient from a performance and DASD utilization perspective. If you choose not to use system determined blocksizes, use the blocksizes and numbers of blocks specified to allocate the data sets. Data sets can be reblocked to a larger size. Please note that the maximum allowable blocksize will depend on the type of DASD on which the dataset will reside; for example, the blocksize of datasets on a 3350 DASD cannot exceed 19,069. 3. Abbreviations used for the data set type are: U Unique data set used by only the FMIDs listed. In order to determine the correct storage needed for this data set, this table provides all required information; no other tables (or program directories) need to be referenced for the data set size. S Shared data set used by more than the FMIDs listed. In order to determine the correct storage needed for this data set, the storage size given in this table needs to be added to other tables (perhaps in other program directories). If the data set already exists, it must have enough free space to accommodate the storage size given in this table. If you currently have a previous release of this product installed in these libraries, the installation of this release will delete the old one and reclaim the space used by the old release and any service that had been installed. You can determine whether or not these libraries have enough space by deleting the old release with a dummy function, compressing the libraries, and comparing the space requirements with the free space in the libraries. For more information on the names and sizes of the required data sets, please refer to 6.1.8, "Allocate SMP/E Target and Distribution Libraries" on page 19. ׯ | Figure 11. If your maintenance level is not already at Service Level 9929 or higher, you should install this service updated level of HMOS100, and any cumulative service tape provided, to bring IP PrintWay up to the current level. If your maintenance level is already at Service Level 9929 or higher, skip to 6.1.12, "Update MVS System Environment" on page 20 and review that section. You do not need to perform the SMP/E processing steps. 5.4.2 INSTALLING IP PRINTWAY ON OS/390 RELEASE 8 OR HIGHER To allow IP PrintWay to coexist with the Infoprint Server feature of OS/390 Release 8 and higher, you must install FMID HMOS100 into separate zones from those used for OS/390 Release 8 or higher. The install logic for Infoprint Server will delete and supercede FMID HMOS100. The following considerations apply for using the PSF V3 IP PrintWay feature on OS/390 R8: You cannot install PSF V3 IP PrintWay in the same SMP/E target and distribution zone as OS/390. You must install IP PrintWay into a separate zone. The PSF V3 IP PrintWay and NetSpool features can coexist with each other in the same zone, but it must be a different zone than the one you used to install OS/390. The executable code for the PSF V3 IP PrintWay feature and OS/390 Infoprint Server can coexist on the system. PSF V3 IP PrintWay load modules will be installed into ANF.SANFLOAD. Infoprint Server modules will be installed into SYS1.LINKLIB. If you want to run PSF V3 IP PrintWay on OS/390 R8 or higher, you must use a STEPLIB statement in the start-up procedure for PSF V3 IP PrintWay. You should not put ANF.SANFLOAD in the linklist because modules with the same names reside in SYS1.LINKLIB. Installation Requirements and Considerations 14 The startup procedure for IP PrintWay, ANFWPROC, will be installed in ANF.SANFPROC when HMOS100 is installed. SYS1.PROCLIB will contain a startup procedure of the same name for Infoprint Server after the installation of OS/390 R8. You should copy ANFWPROC into an active procedure library using a different name, rather than the default procedure name ANFWPROC. The JES work selection criteria you use for IP PrintWay must be different from that used for Infoprint Server if you want to run both of them in parallel. This will ensure that print jobs will be routed to the appropriate program for processing. You must use separate operational data sets for IP PrintWay if you want to run it in parallel with Infoprint Server. Separate data sets are required for the PSF V3 IP PrintWay transmission queue file and message log data set. Different data sets are required for the ISPPLIB, ISPMLIB, and SYSEXEC concatenations for the PSF V3 level of IP PrintWay than for Infoprint Server. You must use separate logon procedures to access the ISPF panels for IP PrintWay administration. Also, you must use a STEPLIB to ANF.SANFLOAD in the logon procedure for IP PrintWay. Installation Requirements and Considerations 15 6.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS This chapter describes the installation method and the step-by-step procedures to install and to activate the functions of IP PrintWay. Please note the following: If you want to install IP PrintWay into its own SMP/E environment, consult the SMP/E manuals for instructions on creating and initializing the SMPCSI and the SMP/E control data sets. Sample jobs have been provided to help perform some or all of the installation tasks. The SMP/E jobs assume that all DDDEF entries required for SMP/E execution have been defined in the appropriate zones. The SMP/E dialogs may be used instead of the sample jobs to accomplish the SMP/E installation steps. 6.1 INSTALLING IP PRINTWAY 6.1.1 SMP/E CONSIDERATIONS FOR INSTALLING IP PRINTWAY This release of IP PrintWay is installed using the SMP/E RECEIVE, APPLY, and ACCEPT commands. The SMP/E dialogs may be used to accomplish the SMP/E installation steps. 6.1.2 SMP/E ENVIRONMENT All SMP/E installation jobs provided assume that all necessary DD statements for the execution of SMP/E are defined using DDDEFs. Sample jobs are provided to assist you in installing IP PrintWay. After the RECEIVE step has been completed, the sample jobs can be found in SMPTLIB: IBM.HMOS100.F2. Make a copy of these jobs in your own library and modify them to use during the installation of IP PrintWay. The sample jobs are: ANFALLOC Sample job to allocate target and distribution libraries ANFDDDEF Sample job to define SMP/E DDDEFs ANFAPCK Sample APPLY CHECK job ANFAPPLY Sample APPLY job ANFACCK Sample ACCEPT CHECK job ANFACCEP Sample ACCEPT job In the sample SMP/E jobs provided, the name of the SMP/E CSI is "#GLOBALCSI". The global zone name in the SMP/E CSI is "GLOBAL". The distribution zone name is "#DZONE". The target zone name is "#TZONE". The sample jobs should be updated to reflect the CSI and zone names used at your installation. 6.1.3 SMP/E OPTIONS SUBENTRY VALUES The recommended values for some SMP/E CSI subentries are shown in Figure 16. Use of values lower than these may result in failures in the installation process. DSSPACE is a subentry in the GLOBAL options entry. PEMAX is a subentry of the GENERAL entry in the GLOBAL options entry. Refer to the SMP/E manuals for instructions on updating the global zone. (C) Copyright IBM Corp. 1996, 1999 16 ׯ | Figure 16. When IP PrintWay is installed, ensure the following: Verify that the SMP/E SMPLTS data set has been allocated. Refer to SMP/E Reference for information on allocating the SMPLTS data set. NOTE: For IP PrintWay, 2 cylinders of 3380/3390 DASD space is adequate for the SMPLTS. Provide DDDEFs for the following libraries: CSSLIB SCEELKED SEZACMTX See 6.1.9, "Create DDDEF Entries" on page 19 for a sample job to define these DDDEFs. NOTE: The DDDEFs above are used only to resolve the link-edit for IP PrintWay using CALLLIBS. These data sets are not updated during the installation of IP PrintWay. 6.1.5 UNLOAD THE SAMPLE JCL FROM THE PRODUCT TAPE Sample installation jobs are provided on the distribution tape to help you install IP PrintWay. The following sample JCL will copy the IP PrintWay jobs from the tape. Add a job card and modify the parameters in boldface to uppercase values to meet your site's requirements before submitting. //STEP1 EXEC PGM=IEBCOPY //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=A //IN DD DSN=IBM.HMOS100.F2,UNIT=TUNIT,VOL=SER=MOS100, // LABEL=(3,SL),DISP=(OLD,KEEP) //OUT DD DSNAME=JCL-LIBRARY-NAME, // DISP=(NEW,CATLG,DELETE), // VOL=SER=DASDVOL,UNIT=SYSALLDA, // DCB=*.STEP1.IN,SPACE=(8800,(8,1,2)) //SYSUT3 DD UNIT=SYSDA,SPACE=(CYL,(1,1)) //SYSIN DD * COPY INDD=IN,OUTDD=OUT /* where TUNIT is the unit value matching the product tape or cartridge, JCL-LIBRARY-NAME is the name of the data set where the sample jobs will reside, and DASDVOL is the volume serial of the DASD device where the data set will reside. You can also access the sample installation jobs by performing an SMP/E RECEIVE for FMID HMOS100 and then copying the jobs from dataset HLQ.IBM.HMOS100.F2 to a work dataset for editing and submission. Installation Instructions 17 6.1.6 PERFORM SMP/E RECEIVE Figure 17 on page 18 contains a sample job that can be used to perform the SMP/E RECEIVE for IP PrintWay. Create JCL similar to this sample, modifying the job to specify the appropriate parameters for your installation. NOTE: if you obtained IP PrintWay as part of a CBPDO, you can use the RCVPDO job found in the CBPDO RIMLIB data set to RECEIVE the IP PrintWay FMIDs as well as any service, HOLDDATA, or preventive service planning (PSP) information included on the CBPDO tape. For more information, refer to the documentation included with the CBPDO. If no cumulative service tape is shipped or if the product is received by CBPDO, skip this section. Figure 18 on page 19 contains a sample job to RECEIVE the PTFs and HOLDDATA from the cumulative service tape. Create JCL similar to this sample, modifying the job to specify the appropriate parameters for your installation. If any of the PTFs on the tape have a system hold by the ++HOLD SYSTEM modification control statement with a reason ID equal to UCLIN, file 6 of the cumulative service tape will contain the UCLIN for that PTF. The instructions for the UCLIN are contained in the cover letter of the PTF. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "0" should be received from this job. RECEIVE Job for Cumulative Service Tape 6.1.8 ALLOCATE SMP/E TARGET AND DISTRIBUTION LIBRARIES Edit and submit sample job ANFALLOC to allocate the SMP/E target and distribution libraries for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. The ANFALLOC sample job specifies the storage requirements using average block lengths. BLKSIZE=0 indicates that system-determined block sizes are being used. For example, the sizes might look like this: SPACE=(8800,(135,27,6)), DCB=(RECFM=FB,LRECL=80,BLKSIZE=0) Do not confuse the SPACE=8800 (average block length) parameter with the BLKSIZE=0 (block size) parameter. If you would like to change the block size to something other than the system-determined block size, you can change the BLKSIZE parameter. Do not change the SPACE parameter. You can use the storage allocations as they are, or convert them to cylinder or track allocations. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "0" should be received from this job. 6.1.9 CREATE DDDEF ENTRIES Edit and submit sample job ANFDDDEF to create DDDEF entries for the SMP/E target and distribution libraries for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. If the CALLLIBs DDDEFs: CSSLIB SCEELKED SEZACMTX are already defined in the target zone, delete the statements from "ANFDDDEF" before running this job. If the target and distribution data sets that correspond to the DDDEFs will be cataloged, the UNIT and VOLUME parameters can be deleted before the job is run. If this job is re-run, change the "ADD" command to "REP" to replace the existing entries. Installation Instructions 19 EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "0" should be received from this job. 6.1.10 PERFORM SMP/E APPLY CHECK Edit and submit sample job ANFAPCK to perform an SMP/E APPLY CHECK for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. To receive the full benefit of the SMP/E Causer SYSMOD Summary Report, do not bypass the following on the APPLY CHECK: PRE, ID, REQ, and IFREQ. This is because the SMP/E root cause analysis identifies the cause only of ERRORS and not of WARNINGS (SYSMODs that are bypassed are treated as warnings, not errors, by SMP/E). The GROUPEXTEND operand indicates that SMP/E accept all requisite SYSMODs. The requisite SYSMODS might be applicable to other functions. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "4" should be received from this job with the following messages: GIM61903W LMOD ANFFFSA WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFFFSA IS NOT IN THE TARGET ZONE. GIM61903W LMOD ANFQSCAN WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFQSCAN IS NOT IN THE TARGET ZONE. These messages can be ignored. NOTE: If you are installing the IP PrintWay Service Update on a system with a lower service level of IP PrintWay already installed, a return code of "0" should be received. 6.1.11 PERFORM SMP/E APPLY Edit and submit sample job ANFAPPLY to perform an SMP/E APPLY for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. When using SMP/E CALLLIBS, you may receive warning messages when the load modules are link edited into the SMPLTS data set. For example: IEW2454W SYMBOL xxxxxxxx UNRESOLVED. NO AUTOCALL(NCAL) SPECIFIED IEW2480W EXTERNAL SYMBOL xxxxxxxx OF TYPE LD WAS ALREADY DEFINED AS A SYMBOL OF TYPE LD IN SECTION csectname These warning messages are acceptable. 6.1.12 UPDATE MVS SYSTEM ENVIRONMENT Installation Instructions 20 6.1.12.1 SET UP APF AUTHORIZATION The IP PrintWay load library ANF.SANFLOAD must be designated as an APF-authorized library. You can accomplish this by either of the following methods: 1. Designate ANF.SANFLOAD as an APF-authorized data set using member PROGnn of SYS1.PARMLIB. 2. If all data sets in the LINKLST concatenation are to be treated as APF-authorized, include ANF.SANFLOAD in the LNKLSTnn member of SYS1.PARMLIB and remove the STEPLIB statements from the procedures and JCL used by IP PrintWay. Refer to the Authorized Assembler Services Guide for your operating system for more information on APF authorization. 6.1.12.2 PARMLIB CONSIDERATIONS FOR LANGUAGE ENVIRONMENT IP PrintWay requires the CEE.V1RxM0.SCEERUN data set of Language Environment during execution. You may either: Place SCEERUN in the LINKLST prior to any other language runtime data set OR Place SCEERUN in the STEPLIB of the IP PrintWay startup proc. If the STEPLIB approach is going to be used, then the SCEERUN data set must also be AFP-authorized. NOTE: Placing SCEERUN in the LINKLST might have ramifications to other IBM products, vendor programs, and user-written applications. Please refer to the Language Environment Runtime Migration Guide, SC26-8232, for details. 6.1.12.3 UPDATE PROGRAM PROPERTIES TABLE The MVS program properties table must be updated to define the program ANFFIEP to execute with the following special properties: Unique protect key - key 1 System task Non-swappable Data set integrity not required No preferred storage required To update the table, update the appropriate SCHEDxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB. A sample PPT entry for ANFFIEP is shown in Figure 19 on page 22. NOTE: If you are installing IP PrintWay on an OS/390 Version 2 Release 5 system or higher, the IP PrintWay entry is already included in the system default PPT. You do not have to include ANFFIEP in SCHEDxx on OS/390 Release 5 or higher. Installation Instructions 21 ׯ | | | /***************************************************************/| | /* Program Properties Table Addition for IP PrintWay */| | /* */| | /* The following defaults are taken for this entry: */| | /* NOPRIV Not a privileged job */| | /* CANCEL Cancellable */| | /* PASS Requires password protection */| | /* AFF(NONE) No affinity to a particular processor */| | /***************************************************************/| | /* */| | PPT PGMNAME(ANFFIEP) /* PROGRAM NAME ANFFIEP */| | KEY(1) /* PROTECTION KEY 1 */| | NOSWAP /* NONSWAPPABLE */| | SYST /* SYSTEM TASK */| | NOPREF /* NO PREFERRED STORAGE REQUIRED */| | NODSI /* DOES NOT REQUIRE DATA SET */| | /* INTEGRITY */| | | ר Figure 19. Sample PPT Entry for ANFFIEP For information on updating the MVS program properties table, refer to the Initialization and Tuning Reference for your operating system. 6.1.12.4 ENABLE IP PRINTWAY FOR OS/390 SYSTEMS If you are installing IP PrintWay on MVS/ESA V5, you may skip this step and continue with 6.1.12.5, "Customize IP PrintWay." If you are installing IP PrintWay on an OS/390 system, you must complete this step to enable IP PrintWay. For information on OS/390 dynamic enablement, refer to OS/390 MVS Product Management, GC28-1730. A sample IFAPRDxx entry is provided in member ANFPRDXX of ANF.SANFSAMP. Copy ANFPRDXX into your active IFAPRDxx member of SYS1.PARMLIB to enable IP PrintWay, following the instructions in ANFPRDXX. Your IFAPRDxx entry should look like this: PRODUCT OWNER('IBM CORP') NAME('PSF FOR OS/390') ID(5655-B17) VERSION(*) RELEASE(*) MOD(*) FEATURENAME('IP PRINTWAY') STATE(ENABLED) 6.1.12.5 CUSTOMIZE IP PRINTWAY After completing the above steps, you may activate IP PrintWay as described in 6.2, "Activating IP PrintWay" on page 23 at any time. 6.1.13 PERFORM SMP/E ACCEPT CHECK Edit and submit sample job ANFACCK to perform an SMP/E ACCEPT CHECK for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. To receive the full benefit of the SMP/E Causer SYSMOD Summary Report, do not bypass the following on the ACCEPT CHECK: PRE, ID, REQ, and IFREQ. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "4" should be received from this job with the following messages: Installation Instructions 22 GIM61903W LMOD ANFFFSA WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFFFSA IS NOT IN THE DLIB ZONE. GIM61903W LMOD ANFQSCAN WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFQSCAN IS NOT IN THE DLIB ZONE. These messages can be ignored. 6.1.14 PERFORM SMP/E ACCEPT Edit and submit sample job ANFACCEP to perform an SMP/E ACCEPT for IP PrintWay. Consult the instructions in the sample job for more information. Before using SMP/E to load new distribution libraries, it is recommended that you set the ACCJCLIN indicator in the distribution zone. This will cause entries produced from JCLIN to be saved in the distribution zone whenever a SYSMOD containing inline JCLIN is ACCEPTed. For more information on the ACCJCLIN indicator, see the description of inline JCLIN in the SMP/E manuals. EXPECTED RETURN CODES AND MESSAGES: A return code of "4" should be received from this job with the following messages: GIM61903W LMOD ANFFFSA WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFFFSA IS NOT IN THE DLIB ZONE. GIM61903W LMOD ANFQSCAN WAS NOT DELETED BY SYSMOD HMOS100 BECAUSE ANFQSCAN IS NOT IN THE DLIB ZONE. These messages can be ignored. If PTFs containing replacement modules are being ACCEPTed, SMP/E ACCEPT processing will linkedit/bind the modules into the distribution libraries. During this processing, the Linkage Editor or Binder may issue IEW0461 or IEW2454W messages documenting unresolved external references, resulting in a return code of 4 from the ACCEPT step. These messages can be ignored, because the distribution libraries are not executable and the unresolved external references will not affect the executable system libraries. 6.2 ACTIVATING IP PRINTWAY The publication IBM IP PrintWay Guide, S544-5379 contains the step-by-step procedures to activate the functions of IP PrintWay. If you are installing IP PrintWay on OS/390 Release 8 or higher, review the operational considerations in 5.4.2, "Installing IP PrintWay on OS/390 Release 8 or Higher" on page 14. Installation Instructions 23 APPENDIX A.
