We attached the PostScript printer to our network but nothing prints. What's wrong?
If you try to print an ASCII file created by DCF directly to the PostScript printer it is not in an ASCII format the interpreter can process. The PostScript produced by DCF relies on the file transfer process to create a printer-ready file. When you run the output through a network to the printer, the header records required to inform the printer that this is a PostScript file are not in a format the printer can understand, so the file never prints. Note: This is not a LAN, but a network connection at the host. Some network boxes do a translation on the file, even when they say they don't.
