THIS SECTION CONTAINS GENERAL INFORMATION, I.E. SYSGEN HINTS/TIPS.
   4. 94/06/02 Apar PN55930 changes how the AFPDS is produced when
formatting for any of the following families of logical
               devices: AFP, 3820, PG1, PG2, PG3, PG4, and 38PP. Prior to
this apar each different section of the page was placed in
a separate CTX/PTX structured field. This sections include,
but are not limited to: columns, floats, cells in tables,
areas, footnotes, running headings, and running footings.
PN55930 changes processing to put as much data into a
CTX/PTX structured field as possible. This means that fewer
CTX/PTX structured fields will be produced, the output
files produced by SCRIPT/VS will be smaller, and printer
               performance should be improved.
   3. 92/04/28 Apar PN17455 contains five fixes for double byte, including
apar PN11639. As a suggestion, it may be easier for a user
to resolve the problem corrected by mandatory apar PN11639
and resolve other double byte problems by installing apar
               PN17455.
   2. 92/04/22 When creating a saved segment for DCF 1.4 with the DEFSEG
command the program directory shows a size of x'BF'. This
size is large enough for base DCF, maintenance and one
language. If you include more than one language or a
feature such as SMFF and double byte, you will need to
increase the size of your segment accordingly. Failure to
do so may result in message msdmsitp141t indicating an
operation exception has occurred. If you install base DCF,
maintenance, the Double Byte feature, SMFF and the Dutch
language (this is the largest language), you will need a
segment size of x'CF' instead of x'BF'.
   1. 92/04/22 If you are installing the Double Byte feature for VM and
VM/SMFF, you must install apars PN11639, PN17455 and
PN18084. If PN11639 is not installed, message MSDSMBEG201W
'SOSI Specified With Incompatible Command Option, SOSI
Option Ignored' is issued for the IVP because the profiles
have not been updated for Double Byte. Also, message
MSDSMACT203S 'Invalid Calling Sequence (NO.=4), Imbedding
.EQMAC is issued when running the IVP because the profiles
have not been updated for Double Byte. If PN17455 is not
installed its possible to end up with modules containi only
partial Double Byte maintenance installed. If PN18084 is
not installed for VM, the saved segment may not be properly
               updated.
