II. KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF THE RELEASE:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

IMPORTANT: THIS UPDATE REQUIRES AN MFP RUNNING 902.023C

NOTE: This code update should only be used if you are experiencing
one of the specific problems listed below. If your MFP is not

now terminate with a proper Carriage Return / Line Feed (CRLF).

   2. Corrected a specific lockup where pressing certain scanner panel
buttons in a certain order could lockup the scanner.

   3. Corrected a problem where the printer could reset, but the scanner
would not allow any COPY functionality after the reset.

   4. The "Update MFP Firmware" link is now MarkNet password protected.

   5. Added the "Date:" to email headers.

   6. Corrected a problem where the password, though entered correctly
from the touchscreen, would not work.

   7. Corrected a problem where copies would sometimes be sent to the
      wrong printer output tray.

NOTE: Windows XP personal firewall must be disabled to use the Scan to
         PC functionality of the MFP.

   Applying 902.023Cpatch1 to a 902.023C MFP
   -----------------------------------------

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE MFP OR SCANNER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS UPDATE !!

IMPORTANT: THIS UPDATE REQUIRES AN MFP RUNNING 902.023C
If your MFP is using software 901.xxx, you will need to
first update to 902.018F before updating to 902.023C.
If your MFP is using software 902.018F, you will need to
              update to 902.023C before proceeding.

NOTE: A high-speed network connection between your computer and the
MFP is suggested when performing this update.

Using the adapter web page to update MFP Software
  -------------------------------------------------

  (1) Using your web browser, enter the IP address of your MFP system.
This will bring up the MFP's web page.
  (2) Click the "Configuration" link on the left-hand side of the page.
  (3) Now click the "Update MFP Firmware" link.
  (4) Choose the "Browse" button to select the MFP Software. Note that
the MFP Software fill will have a ".mf2" extension.
  (5) Once you have located and selected the .mf2 MFP software update
file, click "Submit". A new window will open showing the status
of the software upload. DO NOT navigate away from the original
web page where you pressed "Submit", as this page is actually
uploading the software. The popup window is only showing you the
       status of that upload.

Note: The upload will take a few minutes, as it is approximately 20MB.

  (6) AFTER the code is completely uploaded, wait up to 15 minutes as
the update is applied to the MFP controller. There is no
on-screen indication that this is occurring, however, the MFP
will reset itself once this step is complete.

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE MFP OR SCANNER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS PROCESS !!

  (7) On the automatic reboot, the MFP will present a screen telling
you that it is updating code. This step will take approximately
another 15 minutes while the MFP is applying the patch. The MFP
cannot be used until the update is complete.

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE MFP OR SCANNER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS PROCESS !!

  (8) Once complete, the MFP will reboot itself and will be updated to
902.023Cpatch1 MFP software and 911.003 boot code.

Using MarkVision Professional to update MFP Software
  ----------------------------------------------------

NOTE: MarkVision Professional version 7.4 or higher is required for
         IBM MFP support.

  (1) From MarkVision Professional, select the "Firmware Download (Print
Server)" task from the All Tasks list or click "Actions" ->
"Firmware Download (Print Server)" from the menus.
  (2) Select the print servers you would like to update. For more
information on locating devices, reference the MarkVision
       Professional User's Guide.
  (3) Click "New File" to find the downloaded MFP Software update file.
This file will have a ".mf2" file extension.
  (4) Click "Start". The software upload will take a few minutes, as it is
       approximately 20MB.
  (5) AFTER the code is completely uploaded, wait up to 15 minutes as the
update is applied on the MFP controller. There is no on-screen
indication that this is happening, however, the MFP will reset
itself once this step is complete.

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE MFP OR SCANNER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS PROCESS !!

  (6) On the automatic reboot, the MFP will present a screen telling
you that it is updating code. This step will take approximately
another 15 minutes while the MFP is applying the patch. The MFP
cannot be used until the update is complete.

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE MFP OR SCANNER AT ANY TIME DURING THIS PROCESS !!

  (7) Once complete, the MFP will reboot itself and will be updated to
902.023Cpatch1 MFP software and 911.003 boot code.
