What’s new in this release?

CICS® TG plug-in version 3.1.0 is a refresh for compatibility with CICS Explorer® version 5.5.28.

System requirements and prerequisites

The CICS TG plug-in must be installed in the CICS Explorer Version 5.5.28.

Statistics API protocol handler must be defined in the CICS Transaction Gateway before a Gateway daemon can be viewed using the CICS Explorer.

Installing the CICS TG plug-in

To install the CICS TG plug-in through IBM Installation Manager
  1. In IBM Installation Manager, select 'Install' to view and select product offerings for installation.
  2. Select IBM CICS Transaction Gateway.
  3. Review and complete the remaining pages in IBM Installation Manager.
To install the CICS TG plug-in through Eclipse p2
  1. In the menu bar, select 'Help' -> 'Install New Software...'.
  2. Select to work with the "IBM Explorer for z/OS Update Site" and allow the list of available softwares to load.
  3. Select IBM CICS Transaction Gateway.
  4. Review and complete the remaining steps in the installation wizard.

Getting started

After installation, when the CICS Explorer restarts, open the CICS TG plug-in perspective by clicking Open Perspective > Other > CICS Transaction Gateway.

To know more about CICS TG plug-in, refer to "CICS TG plug-in user guide" in the help documentation. Click Help > Help Contents > CICS TG plug-in User Guide > Basic Tutorial to display the basic tutorial for the CICS TG plug-in.

Known issues and limitations

The following limitations exist in CICS TG plug-in version 3.1.0:

  • CICS TG plug-in does not provide support for CICS TS VSE/ESA.
