The CICS® CM Version 5.3 plug-in adds further enhancements:

  • Support for IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS®, Version 5.3.
  • CICS CM service fixes are included.

System requirements and prerequisites

The CICS CM Version 5.3 plug-in must be installed in the CICS Explorer® Version 5.3 .

Downloading and installing the CICS CM plug-in

To download the CICS CM plug-in, follow the instructions for installing the IBM Explorer for z/OS. For more information, see Download Eclipse Tools
The CICS CM plug-in can be installed as one of the available packages.

Getting started

When CICS Explorer restarts, the CICS Explorer perspective is displayed. To open the CICS CM perspective, either click the Open Perspective toolbar icon, or click Window > Open Perspective > Other in the main menu. In the Open Perspective window, select CICS CM then click OK.

If you are not familiar with the CICS CM plug-in, help documentation is integrated with the product and includes a basic tutorial. To display the tutorial for the CICS CM plug-in, click Help > Help Contents > CICS CM Plug-in User Guide > Basic Tutorial.

Known issues and limitations

The following limitations exist in the CICS CM Version 5.3 plug-in:

  • CICS CM does not provide support for CICS TS VSE/ESA.
  • In the CICS Explorer Version 5.3 Customize View dialog, the complex filter and sorting function that can be added is not supported. However, simple filtering by using “=” is supported.
