Configuring a connection
Before you can view any information, you must establish a connection between the CICS® TG plug-in and your Gateway daemon by providing details of the Gateway location, and statistics port. Authentication is not supported and any values specified are ignored. You can create multiple connections, however each connection must have a unique name.
Procedure
- On the workbench menu, click The . Host
Connections view is displayed. If you have connections
already defined, they are listed under the categories in the view.
If not, the categories are empty. The following example screen shows

Gateway category. CICS Transaction Gateway connections do not use
credentials.
- If the connection is already defined, as in the screen image above, click on the connection name and click Connect.
- To create a new connection, select the CICS Transaction
Gateway connection type and click Add. The new connection
dialog opens.
- Optional: Enter the name you want to use for this connection. If you do not provide a name, a default is automatically created from the host name and port number.
- Enter the Host name and port number.
- To start the connection now, click Save and Connect. Alternatively, click Save and Close to save the connection details without connecting at this time. To start the connection at a later time, select the connection from the list in the Host Connections view and click Connect.
