Release notes for CICS Deployment Assistant Version 1.1.0.2

Contents

What's new in this release?

Version 1.1.0.2 contains minor defect fixes and toleration changes in support of CICS TS version 4.2.

Using CICS Explorer version 1.1.0 and CICS Deployment Assistant version 1.1.0.2, you can now manage CICS TS version 4.2 regions. However CICS DA 1.1.0.2 does not support the new features of CICS TS version 4.2.

The ability to discover CICS TS v4.2 systems with this updated version of the IBM CICS Deployment Assistant plug-in for CICS Explorer is also dependent upon APAR PM38405 being applied to the CICS DA z/OS component.

For a list of the APARs and problems that are fixed in CICS Deployment Assistant Version 1.1.0.2, see the Retain system.

Known issues and limitations

The following limitations exist in CICS Deployment Assistant version 1.1.0.2

  • When you use the Team support function to synchronize with a shared system model you might find that changes in the shared model are not shown in your local model. To show the changes you must close and reopen the DA project that contains the local model. When you have reopened the project, select the project and press F5 to refresh the information. The project should now show the updated content.
  • If you add an unmanaged CICS region to a CICSplex, after you stop and start the CICS region the associated CMAS, DB2, and WebSphere MQ connections are not shown in either the region editor or the system model. To show the changes you must select the WUI server associated with the CICSplex and rediscover the CICSplex resources.
  • Using CICS Deployment Assistant version 1.1.0.2 you can now manage CICS TS version 4.2 regions, however CICS Deployment Assistant 1.1.0.2 does not support the new features of CICS TS version 4.2.
