The Service Agent is a no-charge, orderable, installable program product that runs on the z/OS and OS/390 operating system and uses the Hardware Management Console. The Electronic Service Agent for zSeries and S/390, combined with network centric architecture provides information to IBM service and support personnel that results in improved service delivery to the customer. When enabled, this code collects selected data and transmits it to IBM periodically. From a DOS window enter the following command: BKUPLOAD.BAT where is the ID of your Personal Communications HOST session UPLOADING BOOKMANAGER FILE TO THE HOST USING FTP: 1. Copy FTPLOAD.REX REXX exec and FTPLOAD.JCL to your host. 2. Submit FTPLOAD.JCL to upload bookmanager files to your host session, or run FTPLOAD.EXEC from your TSO session. _________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ Installation and configuration tips The personel responsible for installing and configuring Service Agent should be familiar with or have a working knowledge of zSeries and System/390 architecture, MVS system commands, the installation’s SMP/E CSI (Consolidated Software Inventory) structure, the UNIX System Services environment and local RMF data gathering procedures. RACF SYSTEM authority or equivalent will be needed to perform certain parts of the installation. The following list summarizes the steps necessary to install, configure and activate the Service Agent.
