System Profiles: An Overview

A system profile is a collection of one or more partition profiles. System profiles are used to activate groups of partitions at a time. Activating a system profile involves using each associated partition profile to activate its partition.

Only profiles of the same partition type can be placed within the same system profile. For example, you cannot have both a Full System Partition profile and a normal LPAR profile in one system profile.

You can activate a system profile at any time, including when you power on the managed system.
