Filtering information to display in an End-Point view

To select the information you want to display in an End-Point view:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select End-Point View.

  3. In the End-Point View pane, select Edit Filter from the Filter menu.

  4. In the Edit Filter dialog box, specify the values that you want to display for each of the entries. The next time you do an End-Point view, only the entries that match the values you specified are displayed.

Filtering information to display in a Switch Topology view

To select the information you want to display in a Switch Topology view:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select Switch Topology View.

  3. In the Switch Topology View pane, select Edit Filter from the Filter menu.

  4. In the Edit Filter dialog box, specify the values that you want to display for each of the entries. The next time you do a Switch Topology view, only the entries that match the values you specified are displayed.

Turning filtering off in an End-Point view

To display all information in an End-Point view, you can turn filtering off.

To turn filtering off:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select End-Point View.

  3. In the End-Point View pane, select Filter Off from the Filter menu. This causes all information to display in an End-Point view.


Turning filtering off in a Switch Topology view

To display all information in a Switch Topology view, you can turn filtering off.

To turn filtering off:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select Switch Topology View.

  3. In the Switch Topology View pane, select Filter Off from the Filter menu. This causes all the lines to display in a Switch Topology view.


Viewing end-point topology

You can see an ordered topology of the servers in the switched network. The End-Point View provides a list of servers connected to the switched cluster, a list of all switch adapters for each server, and a list of ports for every switch adapter (2 ports per switch adapter).

To view end-point topology:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select End-Point View.

    The following information is displayed: Frame, cage, server type and model, number of adapters, which adapters are up, network, plane, port, and status. Each server line shows its location and status. Each adapter line shows a port status summary. Each port line shows port status, connected network and plane.

    To perform a task, select the server, switch adapter, or port from the list, then select the specific action from the menus.


Viewing switch topology

You can see an ordered topology of the switch boards in the switched network. The Switch Topology View provides a list of switch boards connected to a single network in the switched cluster, a list of all switch chips for each switch board, and a list of ports for every switch chip (8 ports per switch chip). You can select the network and plane that you want to view.

To view switch topology:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select Switch Topology View.

    The following information is displayed: Frame, cage, power state, chip, port, slot-riser port and status. Each switch board line shows its location and status; each switch chip line shows port status summary; and each port line shows port status.

    To perform a task, select the switch board, switch chip, or port from the list, then select the specific action from the menus.
