Displaying the default columns in an SNM trace file

You can customize the view of an SNM trace file by selecting which of the available columns to show. You can choose to display only the default columns, all the columns, or select specific columns.

To display the default columns:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select View Trace.

  3. From the View menu, select Default Columns.

Displaying all the columns in an SNM trace file

You can customize the view of an SNM trace file by selecting which of the available columns to show. You can choose to display only the default columns, all the columns, or select specific columns.

To display all the columns:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select View Trace.

  3. From the View menu, select All Columns.

Specifying columns to display in an SNM trace file

You can customize the view of an SNM trace file by selecting which of the available columns to show. You can choose to display only the default columns, all the columns, or select specific columns.

To specify which columns to display:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select View Trace.

  3. From the View menu, select Selected Columns.

Filtering entries to display in a Trace View

You can select which entries you want to see in an SNM trace file.

To specify the entries you want to display:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select Switch Topology View.

  3. In the View Trace pane, select Edit Filter from the Filter menu.

  4. In the Edit Filter dialog box, specify the values that you want to display for each of the entries, then click OK. The entries that match the specified values and the ***Filter Active*** warning are displayed.

Turning filtering off

You can turn the filtering off in a Trace view to display all the lines in the trace file.

To turn filtering off:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select End-Point View.

  3. In the View Trace pane, select Filter Off from the Filter menu.


Viewing information in the local SNM trace file

To view information in the local SNM trace file:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select View Trace. Information from the current trace file on the local Hardware Management Console is displayed.

Viewing information in a specific SNM trace file

To view information in a specific SNM trace file:

  1. In the navigation area, select Switch Management --> Switch Network Management.

  2. In the Overview pane, select View Trace.

  3. From the Selected menu, select Open.

  4. Specify the trace file, saved on the local Hardware Management Console, that you want to open.
