OBJ parameter

The object (OBJ) parameter specifies the names of one or more objects affected by the command in which this parameter is used. Start of change If the OBJ parameter identifies objects that must exist in an OS/400(R) library, all of the objects must be in one of the following, depending upon which command is used:

On some commands, the generic name of a group of objects can be specified. To form a generic name, add an asterisk (*) after the last character in the common group of characters; for example, ABC*. If an * is not included with the name, the system assumes that the name is a complete object name.
