This PERFORMANCE directory is updated and maintained by the Image Competency
Center (ICC) in Gaithersburg Maryland.  The purpose of this directory is to
provide performance information that relates to the VisualInfo for AS/400
product.

If you have difficulties using FTP to receive these fixes or require further
assistance, please contact VI/400 Support through your normal support
channels.

NOTE: The programs and data provided on this directory are only supported
      in a VI/400 V4R3 environment, running on OS/400 Version 4.3.

* VI400TST.EXE
  This is the enhanced version of the VI/400 API test driver.
  This version of the driver has been enhanced to include:

  - A delay function for simulating key/think time
  - An iterate function which allows for the repeated execution of a
    response file
  - A set item identifier function which can be used to set the current
    item identifier to a specific TOC entry
  - The ability to read attribute values and search expressions from a
    data file
  - The ability to open multiple attribute sets (SimLibOpenItemAttr)

  For additional information concerning the usage of the API driver,
  please refer to the Spring/Summer 1999 EDMSuite Newsletter, Volume 2,

* SCRIPTS.ZIP
  This is a ZIP file that contains sample response and data files that
  can be used by the VI/400 API test driver.  This file contains sample
  files for Import, Index, Scan, and Search



* VIDATA.BIN
  This file contains "saved" workloads that can be used by the Best/1
  Capacity Planning tool.  These workloads were created at the Image 
  Competency Center are similar to the "predefined" workloads shipped 
  with the product.  
  
  This is an AS/400 save file, which you will need to FTP to your AS/400
  system.  Before FTP'ing this file, use the CRTSAVF command to create a
  save file named VIDATA.  Then, you can either use AS/400 FTP to GET the
  file directly from the FTP site, or retrieve it to a workstation file,
  then from DOS use PUT to transfer it onto the AS/400.
  REMEMBER TO USE BINARY TRANSFER MODE!

  Once the VIDATA savf exists on your AS/400, use the RSTLIB command to
  restore the VI4DATA library into your existing VIDATA library as follows:

     RSTLIB SAVLIB(VIDATA) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(VIDATA)

  This is the VisualInfo for AS/400 Performance and Capacity Planning
  guide in Lotus Word Pro format



* VIPERF.PDF
  This is the VisualInfo for AS/400 Performance and Capacity Planning
  guide in PDF format
