PTF SH15297 MIGRATION/INSTALLATION TIPS Content Manager for iSeries V5R3 with the WAF feature File date: September 7, 2004 Last modified: April 10, 2007 _________________________________________________ This document is to be used in conjunction with the "IBM Content Manager for iSeries Planning and Installing" guide, Version 5 Release 3, (SC27-1133-01). CONTENTS: Section 1: Preparation Steps Section 2: Installation and Migration Instructions Section 3: Post-Migration Instructions Section 4: Multiple WAF Environments Section 5: Getting Help Section 6: WAF Customers that use NON-US English manus and panels _____________________________________________________________________ Section 1: Preparation Steps _____________________________________________________________________ The following steps can be done at any time prior to the migration of Content Manager for iSeries V5R3 and WAF PTF installation: 1. Plan disk space needed. The migration to CM for iSeries V5R3 requires that approximately 40 files be copied to a temporary library (EKDSLNxxxx) and then copied back in a new format. In order to determine how much disk space you will need for this migration, you should plan on (worst case) double the size that your file library currently takes. To determine how much space your file library currently takes, type: DSPLIB LIB(EKDLIBFIL) OUTPUT(*PRINT) Then do a WRKSPLF to look for the QPDSPLIB entry. Check the bottom of this spool file, where it says "Total size". This is the amount of space you should have available for the migration. 2. Make sure you have the 5722-VI1 V5R3 product, either from Passport Advantage as downloaded virtual CD files or as the actual CD-ROM. Content Manager for iSeries is not delivered with the stack media that includes OS/400, etc., so make sure you have this product in house BEFORE you start your migration to OS/400 R5.3! If you use ECS, be sure to specify DELIVERY(*ANY) so that it will arrive on CD-ROM. Note: For your convenience, the save files are also available from this web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/waf The save files that make up the PTF are large so it may take a considerable amount of time to download them. 5. If you use the OS/2 Work Management Builder, you must do the following steps before running EKDPOST: A) DSPFD filelib/EKD0740 - where filelib is the library you are about to upgrade using EKDPOST. B) Determine the name and library of the journal to which the file is being journalled. This information will be used in step 4 of the Post-Migration Instructions, in Section 3 below. Overview of migration steps: 1. Make sure all of the image users are off the system and back up the file library (e.g., QUSRVI). Make sure that all background jobs are stopped. This includes the prestart (PJ) and BCI jobs. 2. Install the OS/400 V5R3 operating system and other programs. 3. GO LICPGM to install CM/400 V5R3, using the product documentation, CM/400 V5R3 Planning and Installing Guide, SC27-1133-01. Install only *BASE and Option 1 of the LPP 5722VI1. Do NOT install Option 2 of 5722VI1 unless this is a secondary processor! A copy of the Planning and Installing Guide is available online at: http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cm/cmgr/400/. Select Library, then "Planning and Installing" (SC27-1133-01). 4. Install ALL of the CM/400 V5R3 PTF's (for a list of the current and required PTFs, please see info APAR II13796 at the following web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/server/. Some of the PTFs maybe found on the cume package shipped with the Operating System. 5. Run EKDPOST to migrate CM/400 data from V5R1 to V5R3. 6. Install WAF PTF SH15297 using these directions in addition to the sh15297.txt directions from the web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/waf Note: No change to the Client software is required for this release. The only software changing is on the server. The detailed installation and migration instructions are below. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 2: Installation and Migration Instructions _____________________________________________________________________ 1. Sign on as QSECOFR. Change sysval QALWOBJRST to *ALL. 2A.If you received your Content Manager for iSeries product on CD-ROM, then load the IBM Content Manager for iSeries CD-ROM (5722-VI1) into the AS/400's CD-ROM drive. Then type "GO LICPGM". Take option 11, Install Licensed Programs. The system reads the loaded CM/400 CD-ROM. From the list of programs to install, type a "1" next to 5722VI1. Choose "IBM Content Manager for iSeries" and "IBM Content Manager for iSeries Option 1" from the LPP list. Note: if 5722VI1 does not appear in your list on the "Install Licensed Programs" screen, then you may type a "1" to Add Licensed Program 5722VI1, Product Options *BASE and Option 1 yourself. Do NOT install Option 2 of 5722VI1 unless this is a secondary processor! Furthermore, if Option 2 is installed, remove it now. See page 2 of the Content Manager for iSeries Planning and Installing Guide referred to above for more details (see Section 5 below for the URL to our publications). Or you can do RSTLICPGM for 5722VI1 product. Do this for *BASE and also for option 1. 2B.If you received your Content Manager for iSeries product via the Passport Advantage download process, you will also receive directions on that web site on how to create an image catalog and create an empty CD entry to it, copy the files via FTP to the server, and then create a virtual optical device, mount the catalog on the virtual optical device and then RSTLICPGM from the virtual optical device. Call the Passport Advantage hotline at 1-800-266-8720 for more information. 3. You should receive the message "Work with licensed programs function has completed." 4. Install the latest PTF cummlative package using the GO PTF command. Also install any PTFs listed in Info APAR II13796 that are not in the PTF package. 5. Run DSPPTF on 5722VI1 to make sure ALL of the PTFs listed in informational APAR II13796 are listed. You can get to II13796 at the following web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/server Run LODPTF and APYPTF to get the appropriate PTFs installed before you run the EKDPOST procedure -- this is crucial! 6. To do a migration, sign on as QSECOFR and add QVI to your libl. In case there are problems with the migration, change your job logging level, if it is not currently set to the following: CHGJOB LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES) 7. Make sure that NONE of the WAF libraries or any other CM/400 library other than QVI is in the LIBL for QSECOFR. This includes the system part of the LIBL as well. 8. To check to make sure no files are locked before you run EKDPOST, type WRKOBJLCK OBJ(*LIBL/EKDLIBFIL) OBJTYPE(*LIB) Please substitute the name of your file library for EKDLIBFIL above. Do not continue the migration if any jobs are locking the objects in your file library! End any jobs locking any of the objects in library QVI before continuing the migration. 9. Once there are no locks on any objects in your file library, then type EKDPOST and press F4. Fill out the screen as follows: Then type EKDPOST and press F4. Fill out the screen as follows: Post Install CM/400 R530 (EKDPOST) Type choices, press Enter. Type of Install . . . . . . . . > 2 1=New, 2=Existing Environment . . . . . . . . . . > 2 1=Single, 2=Multiple (just one CM/400 env?) EKDLIBFIL EKDLIBFIL, Name (your existing libfil library) Do NOT press F10 for additional parameters. Simply press Enter. If and only if you get a message that the 3-letter prefix has already been used, then press F10 on this panel and enter a 3-letter prefix that is not the one you are already using for WAF (e.g., EKD in the example above). NOTE: You will see just the first three parameters when you type EKDPOST and press F4. Then press enter again and you will see the "File Library" parameter. Type in the SAME library name as the "CM/400 file library" unless you want to RENAME that library. 10.After you receive the "Installation completed successfully" message, you are ready to work on the WAF PTF installation. If you receive an error message during the migration, however, do not cancel out. Instead, go over to another session and print the contents of QVI/EKDDRIVER.RUNMEMBER. This will help Support personnel determine how far the migration got. If no Support personnel are available at the time of the migration, cancel the migration and produce a joblog for the entire session. Contact IBM SupportLine personnel for further instructions. 11.Make sure the CD-ROM of PTF SH15297 is available. This CD-ROM can be ordered via ECS or by calling 1-800-IBM-SERV. Alternatively, you may download to your PC's hard drive the 6 PTF* save files from the web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/waf/ 12. Load the WAF feature PTF media. Sign on as QSECOFR. Delete the PTFINST library if it exists, as well as any PTFxxxxxx save files that you might have created for a previous migration. Note: If you use NON-US English menus and panels, please read Section 6 below BEFORE you do the following steps!! A) If you receive the save files on CD, run the WRKOPTVOL command to ascertain the Volume name. The example below uses BLANKVOLID01. Replace BLANKVOLID01 with your Volume label. CPY OBJ('/QOPT/BLANKVOLID01/PTFFILSF.SAV') + TOOBJ('/QSYS.LIB/QGPL.LIB/PTFFILSF.FILE') REPLACE(*YES) + FROMCCSID(*PCASCII) TOCCSID(*CALC) You can use F9 to retrieve the command and change the OBJ parameter until each of the save files are successfully restored (PTFAPISF.SAV, PTFEXTSF.SAV, PTFFILSF.SAV, PTFINSTSF.SAV, PTFLIBSF.SAV, and PTFTXTSF.SAV). B) If you download the save files from the web site, then create save files PTFFILSF, PTFTXTSF, PTFEXTSF, PTFAPISF, PTFLIBSF and PTFINSTSF in the QGPL library and FTP the files from your PC's hard drive into these waiting save files in QGPL. Don't forget to specify a binary file transfer! 13. Issue the following command from the server command line once the save files have been uploaded. This restores the installation library: RSTLIB SAVLIB(PTFINST) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/PTFINSTSF). Do NOT restore the other save files. 14. Still signed on as QSECOFR, add PTFINST and the RSTLIB from step 12B (QGPL) to your libl. Then issue EKDPTF and press F4. Do not be concerned that the EKDPTF screen still shows R510 in the heading. PTF Install WAF/400 R510 (EKDPTF) Type choices, press Enter. File library . . . . . . . . . . EKDLIBFIL EKDLIBFIL, Name (matches CM/400 file library in step 9) Panel library . . . . . . . . . EKDLIB EKDLIB, Name It will not ask you about EKDGPL. 15. You should get message "EKD-8369 System was successfully installed." If you do not, call SupportLine so we can help you recover from the error. Do not attempt the steps that follow if you did not receive the EKD-8369 successful completion message. 16. The PTF SH15297 Readme says to make sure your libl is QTEMP, WAF530LIB (described in step 18 below), EKDLIBFIL (or whatever you named your "CM/400 file library" in step 9), EKDLIBTXT, EKDEXIT, EKDAPI, EKDLIB, EKDGPL and QGPL. Please note that this libl is for IWPM users. CM Client users should have QTEMP, EKDLIBFIL, QVI and QGPL in their libl. 17. GRTOBJAUT *ALL to all objects in the libraries listed in step 14 and the libraries themselves, to the desired group profiles (such as EKDGROUP). Make sure that all image users are a member of the group profile, especially the Admin profile (e.g., EKDADMIN). 18. Install the WAF fixes for V5R3. These are contained in WAF530x.BIN and SCxxxxx.SAV files on the web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/waf Please refer to the readme.txt and interimWAFAPARlisting.txt at the web site above for more information. 19. Recompile any and all custom code that you have written, now that you are on a new release of the Operating System and CM/400. This includes User Exits and any programs that call our Content Manager for iSeries or WAF APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). _____________________________________________________________________ Section 3: Post-Migration Instructions _____________________________________________________________________ 1. Make sure that the WAF510LIB (or WAF510A) library name is removed from all V5R3 users' job descriptions' library lists. Their jobd library list should now have WAF530LIB at the top. 2. If you are using the OS/2 Work Management Builder, and you assign a new name for your xxxLIBFIL library during migration to V5R3, you will need to make a change to a message ID in the EKDMSG2 message file. This file is in your newly migrated xxxLIBFIL library. Please change the value of the USR0022 message ID in this file so that it contains the name of your new xxxLIBFIL library. This operation may be accomplished using PDM (Programming Development Manager). If this change is not made, journalling cannot be started (and error message CPF9801 on program EKDJRNSTRB will result). Without journalling started, the user will be unable to run the OS/2 WMB product. 3. If, when trying to run the "Delete work management profiles" option off the EKD300 menu, you receive the message "EKD-6749 Delete profiles were completed unsuccessfully" and the joblog shows that objects EKD0740L3, L4 and L5 were not found and there is a level check on file EKD0740L3, please do the following: Copy the source members EKD0740L3, L4, and L5 from file QDDSSRC in library QVI into file QDDSSRC in library xxxLIBFIL. Please call CM for iSeries SupportLine if you need assistance with this task. Copying the source members EKD0740L3, EKD0740L4, and EKD0740L5 into library xxxLIBFIL is all that is needed to fix this error. 4. If you use the OS/2 Work Management Builder, you will now need to restart the journalling of the EKD0740 file in your file library. You will use the information from step 5 of the "Preparation Steps" in Section 1 above. The command to enter is: STRJRNPF FILE(filelib/EKD0740) JRN(journallib/MEKDJRN) IMAGES(*BOTH), where filelib is the library you have just upgraded using EKDPOST and journallib is the library retrieved from the DSPFD filelib/EKD0740. NOTE: If you are running any high availability software - journal and library names may be different and/or this step may not be required. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 4: Multiple WAF Environments _____________________________________________________________________ 1. Special care needs to be taken if multiple WAF environments exist which share libraries (ex: EKDLIB). If you have multiple environ- ments and do not plan to migrate them simultaneously, you will need to have at least 2 copies of all the non-file libraries, one which would stay at V5R1 code level and one which would be migrated to the V5R3 level. Then the related job description/library list for each environment would need to be updated accordingly. 2. If you share the libraries other than the file library (in other words, EKDLIBTXT, EKDLIB, EKDGPL, EKDAPI and EKDEXIT are shared) among multiple WAF environments, then once you migrate one by running EKDPTF, there is no need to run EKDPTF for the other WAF environments. There is always the need to run EKDPOST for each environment migrating, however. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 5: Getting Help ______________________________________________________________________ 1. Call IBM support to report defects and for service and technical support. Telephone in the USA and Canada: 1-800-IBM-SERV 2. Online publications for Content Manager/400 and WAF can be viewed or printed by accessing the Content Manager for iSeries Library web page at the following sites: http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cm/cmgr/400/library.html http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cm/cmgr/400/library_waf.html These books are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Especially helpful might be the publication named c3446250.pdf, IBM ImagePlus Workfolder Application Facility for AS/400, V4.1 System Administration Guide (SC34-4625-00). This covers how to set up, use, and maintain the WAF for AS/400 product. It includes information about menus and panels. As WAF has not changed since V4R1, this publication applies to WAF V5R3 as well. 3. Frequently Asked Questions, tips and other helpful hints can be accessed at our web site below: http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cm/cmgr/400/support.html _____________________________________________________________________ Section 6: WAF Customers that use NON-US English menus and panels ______________________________________________________________________ 1. The WAF "feature" code will NOT be translated after CM/400 V4R1. If you want the WAF Menus and Panels in your language (NON- US English), you must SAVE the EKDLIBTXT library BEFORE you install the WAF PTF (SH15297) and then restore the EKDLIBTXT library AFTER you run the WAF PTF. This will enable the menu and panels to be in your existing language. NOTE: Your TXT file may be called something other then EKDLIBTXT. _____________________________________________________________________ Trademarks _____________________________________________________________________ The following are trademarks of the IBM Corporation in the United States or other countries: - AntiVirus - Application Systems/400, AS/400 - Client Access - IBM - ImagePlus - Operating System/400, OS/400 - Personal Communications The following are trademarks of other companies: - Adobe, Acrobat, Acrobat Reader (Adobe Systems, Inc) - ISIS (Pixel Translations) - Rumba (Walldata) - Windows and Windows NT (Microsoft Corporation) 11/17/05
