Content Manager for iSeries V5R3 Migration Instructions File date: October 13, 2004 Last modified: November 17, 2005 _________________________________________________ CONTENTS: Section 1: Preparation Steps Section 2: Installation and Migration Instructions Section 3: 10 Character USERID support in CM/400 V5R3 Section 4: Getting Help _____________________________________________________________________ Section 1: Preparation Steps _____________________________________________________________________ The following steps can be done at any time prior to the migration of Content Manager for iSeries V5R3: 1. Plan disk space needed. The migration to CM for iSeries V5R3 requires that approximately 40 files be copied to a temporary library (EKDSLNxxxx) and then copied back in a new format. In order to determine how much disk space you will need for this migration, you should plan on (worst case) double the size that your file library currently takes. To determine how much space your file library currently takes, type: DSPLIB LIB(QUSRVI) OUTPUT(*PRINT) Then do a WRKSPLF to look for the QPDSPLIB entry. Check the bottom of this spool file, where it says "Total size". This is the amount of space you should have available for the migration. 2. 2. Make sure you have the 5722-VI1 V5R3 product, either from Passport Advantage as downloaded virtual CD files or as the actual CD-ROM. Content Manager for iSeries is not delivered with the stack media that includes OS/400, etc., so make sure you have this product in house BEFORE you start your migration to OS/400 R5.3! Please specify the individual PTFs that you will need; they will arrive in a day or two. Overview of migration steps: 1. Make sure all of the image users are off the system and back up the file library (e.g., QUSRVI). Make sure that all background jobs are stopped. This includes the prestart (PJ) and BCI jobs. 2. Install the OS/400 V5R3 operating system and other programs. 3. GO LICPGM to install CM/400 V5R3 (using the product documentation, CM/400 V5R3 Planning and Installing Guide, SC27-1133-01). Install only *BASE and Option 1 of the LPP 5722VI1. Do NOT install Option 2 of 5722VI1 unless this is a secondary processor! A copy of the Planning and Installing Guide is available online at: http://www.ibm.com/software/data/cm/cmgr/400/. Select Library, then "Planning and Installing" (SC27-1133-01). 4. Install ALL of the CM/400 V5R3 PTF's (for a list of the current and required PTFs, please see info APAR II13796 at the following web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/server/ Some of the PTFs maybe found on the cume package shipped with the Operating System. 5. Run EKDPOST to migrate CM/400 data from V5R1 to V5R3. Note: No change to the Client software is required for this release. The only software changing is on the server. The detailed installation and migration instructions are below. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 2: Installation and Migration Instructions _____________________________________________________________________ 1. Sign on as QSECOFR. Change sysval QALWOBJRST to *ALL. 2A.If you received your Content Manager for iSeries product on CD-ROM, then load the IBM Content Manager for iSeries CD-ROM (5722-VI1) into the AS/400's CD-ROM drive. Then type "GO LICPGM". Take option 11, Install Licensed Programs. The system reads the loaded CM/400 CD-ROM. From the list of programs to install, type a "1" next to 5722VI1. Choose "IBM Content Manager for iSeries" and "IBM Content Manager for iSeries Option 1" from the LPP list. Note: if 5722VI1 does not appear in your list on the "Install Licensed Programs" screen, then you may type a "1" to Add Licensed Program 5722VI1, Product Options *BASE and Option 1 yourself. Do NOT install Option 2 of 5722VI1 unless this is a secondary processor! Furthermore, if Option 2 is installed, remove it now. See page 2 of the Content Manager for iSeries Planning and Installing Guide referred to above for more details (see Section 4 below for the URL to our publications). Or you can do RSTLICPGM for 5722VI1 product. Do this for *BASE and also for option 1. 2B.If you received your Content Manager for iSeries product via the Passport Advantage download process, you will also receive directions on that web site on how to create an image catalog and create an empty CD entry to it, copy the files via FTP to the server, and then create a virtual optical device, mount the catalog on the virtual optical device and then RSTLICPGM from the virtual optical device. Call the Passport Advantage hotline at 1-800-266-8720 for more information. 3. You should receive the message "Work with licensed programs function has completed." 4. 4. Install the latest PTF cummlative package using the GO PTF command. Also install any PTFs listed in Info APAR II13796 that are not in the PTF package. 5. Run DSPPTF on 5722VI1 to make sure ALL of the PTFs listed in informational APAR II13796 are listed. You can get to II13796 at the following web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/server Run LODPTF and APYPTF to get the appropriate PTFs installed before you run the EKDPOST procedure -- this is crucial! 6. To do a migration, sign on as QSECOFR and add QVI to your libl. In case there are problems with the migration, change your job logging level, if it is not currently set to the following: CHGJOB LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES) 7. Make sure that the CM/400 file library (e.g., QUSRVI) is NOT in the LIBL for QSECOFR. This includes the system part of the LIBL as well. 8. To check to make sure no files are locked before you run EKDPOST, type WRKOBJLCK OBJ(*LIBL/QUSRVI) OBJTYPE(*LIB) Please substitute the name of your file library for QUSRVI above. Do not continue the migration if any jobs are locking the objects in your file library! End any jobs locking any of the objects in library QVI before continuing the migration. 9. Once there are no locks on any objects in your file library, then type EKDPOST and press F4. Fill out the screen as follows: Post Install CM/400 R530 (EKDPOST) Type choices, press Enter. Type of Install . . . . . . . . > 2 1=New, 2=Existing Environment . . . . . . . . . . > 1* 1=Single, 2=Multiple (just one VI/400 env?) CM/400 file Library . . . . . . > QUSRVI QUSRVI, Name (if you want to keep the same name as your exis- ting file library) File library . . . . . . . . . . QUSRVI QUSRVI, Name (your existing file library) NOTE: You will see just the first three parameters when you type EKDPOST and press F4. Then press enter again and you will see the "File Library" parameter. Type in the SAME library name as the "CM/400 file library" unless you want to RENAME that library. Do NOT press F10 for additional parameters. Simply press Enter. *Note: on a migration, this parameter really does not matter. 10.Once you receive the "Installation completed successfully" message, you are ready to move on to the final step of granting object authorities. If you receive an error message during the migration, however, do not cancel out. Instead, go over to another session and print the contents of QVI/EKDDRIVER.RUNMEMBER. This will help Support personnel determine how far the migration got. If no Support personnel are available at the time of the migration, cancel the migration and produce a joblog for the entire session. Contact IBM SupportLine personnel for further instructions. 11.GRTOBJAUT *ALL to all objects in the file library and library QVI to the desired group profiles (such as QVIGROUP), as well as to the libraries themselves. Make sure that all image users are a member of the group profile, especially the Admin profile (e.g., EKDADMIN). 12.Recompile any and all custom code that you have written, now that you are on a new release of the Operating System and CM/400. This includes User Exits and any programs that call our Content Manager for iSeries APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). _____________________________________________________________________ Section 3: 10 Character USERID support in CM/400 V5R3 ______________________________________________________________________ If you want to use the new 10 character USERIDs in IBM® Content Manager for iSeries (CM/400) V5R3, you must create new USERIDs that are 10 characters in length. If you already have 10 character AS/400 USERIDs that you have been using with previous CM/400 versions where the first 8 characters were unique, you will still need to create new 10 character USERIDs in CM/400 to include the additional 2 characters of the userid. This is because only the first 8 characters were in the CM/400 files prior to V5R3. For example, in CM/400 V5R1, the OS/400 userid BOBJOHNSON would have been truncated to BOBJOHNS in the CM for iSeries user profile. You must go into the CM for iSeries user profile and create a new userid for BOBJOHNSON and delete BOBJOHNS or your users will not be able to sign onto the CM for iSeries client. You will also need to update your CM/400 Group profiles and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to add the new USERIDs and remove the old USERIDs. Further- more, you should change any OWNED objects to the new 10 character USERIDs. You should continue to use the QVIADMIN (or your equivalent CM/400 Admin USERID) user profile for any of the CM/400 background processes such as Optical Store and Retrieve since the AS/400 System Distribution Directory only supports 8 character USERIDs. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 4: Getting Help ______________________________________________________________________ 1.
