While technically correct according to the documented standards, some users may have become accustom to the old behavior and may not want the updated behavior. The correct behavior is as follows: 1. When the user types to the end of an input field, the cursor will move to the beginning of the field. 2. When the screen is refreshed by a status or break message, the cursor returns to the default position. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.1 Problem Resolution ------------------------------------------------------------------- If the user finds the above behavior undesirable and wants the cursor to behave as it did prior to service pack SI50567, the following steps can be taken: 1. Apply the patch as outlined below. 2. Edit the PC5250 workstation (.ws) file for the 5250 session that needs the old behavior. 3. If the keyword DefaultCursorPosition is not already in the .ws file, add it to the LT52 section. [LT52] DefaultCursorPosition=N 4. If the behavior prior to service pack SI50567 is desired, set DefaultCursorPosition to 'N' ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0 INSTALLATION NOTES ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Applying the patch ------------------------------------------------------------------- This temporary patch is only compatible with 7.1 IBM i Access for Windows service pack SI50567. 1) Close all open emulator sessions. 2) Locate the "Emulator" folder inside the IBM i Access install path.
