If used to connect, disconnect, connect multiple times, you may see some data corruption in the Host field. The system name may see an extra garbage character added to the end of the name. This will cause PC5250 to think that a new system is being defined and launch a wizard. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0 INSTALLATION NOTES ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Applying the patch ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Close all open emulator sessions. 2) Locate the "Emulator" folder inside the IBM i Access install path. By default, this is "C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Emulator" 3) Copy (not rename) the "Emulator" directory to "Emulator.bak" 4) Save the patch version of the following files (included in this package) into the "Emulator" directory. Overwrite the existing files: - pcsapi32.dll - pcsclib.dll - pcscm.exe - pcscw.dll - pcsfe.exe - pcshll32.dll - pcskbd.dll - pcskbdc.dll - pcskbdcw.dll - pcsktk52.dll - pcstlnet.dll - pcsws.exe - pcswsapi.dll 2.2 Removing the patch (REQUIRED BEFORE APPLYING PERMANENT FIX) --------------------------- 1) Close all open emulator sessions. 2) Locate the "Emulator" and "Emulator.bak" folders inside the IBM i Access install path. By default, this is "C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Emulator" 3) Delete the "Emulator" directory 4) Rename the "Emulator.bak" directory to "Emulator" ------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.0 PERMANENT FIX DELIVERY ------------------------------------------------------------------- The permanent fix will be delivered in a future release of V7R1. Before applying the permanent fix, one must first remove this patch, as documented in section 2.2. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.0 REPORTING PROBLEMS If you need to report a problem with the 5250 emulator any time after you have installed this patch, please let your IBM service representative know this patch has been applied.
