Problem 2: PC5250 is slow displaying status messages. An application sending multiple status messages will complete quickly, but the PC5250 emulator will take up to 30 seconds to finish displaying the resulting status messages. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0 INSTALLATION NOTES ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Applying the patch ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Close all open emulator sessions. 2) Locate the "Emulator" folder inside the IBM i Access install path. By default, this is "C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Emulator" 3) In that directory, rename the file pcstlnet.dll to pcstlnet.dll.bak 4) Copy the patch version of pcstlnet.dll into this directory. 5) Reboot the PC. 2.2 Removing the patch --------------------------- 1) Close all open emulator sessions. 2) Locate the "Emulator" folder inside the IBM i Access install path. By default, this is "C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\Emulator" 3) Rename the file pcstlnet.dll.bak to pcstlnet.dll 4) Reboot the PC. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.0 PERMANENT FIX DELIVERY ------------------------------------------------------------------- The permanent fix will be delivered in V7R1. No special action (beyond installing the appropriate V7R1 updates) will be necessary for the user to acquire this fix. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.0 REPORTING PROBLEMS If you need to report a problem with the 5250 emulator any time after you have installed this patch, please let your IBM service representative know this patch has been applied.
