5722XE1 V5R4M0 IBM iSeries Access for Windows

In this directory is the following fix for V5R4M0 iSeries Access for Windows
pertaining to the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) used by iSeries Navigator.
This fix is a new Java Runtime Environment level 1.4.2 Service Release 8
(JRE 1.4.2 SR 8). 
JRE 1.4.2 Service Release 2 (SR 2) shipped with the original V5R4M0 iSeries 
Access for Windows media.

  Run SQL scripts fail to open when using Japanese Windows Vista
  with error message "cwbunnav.exe is stopped".     

  A problem was found in the version of JRE that is shipped with 
  iSeries Navigator.  An update of the JRE is required to solve 
  this problem.


This web download contains the same set of fixes as PTF SI29819.

This fix ONLY applies to V5R4M0 service pack SI27741 or newer. 
This package will install on SI27741 or any newer service pack level.
Please do not attempt to apply this fix to any other release of iSeries Access 
for Windows, or any other service pack level.

If you need to contact Service about problems with this new JRE level, you 
should mention that you have installed the JRE 1.4.2 SR 8 fix package, which 
can be determined by running 
  java.exe -version 
(from the default folder of C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\JRE\bin)
The version of java.exe is 
build 1.4.2, J2RE 1.4.2 IBM Windows 32 build cn142-20070317 (SR8)


Installation Instructions:

Note:  If you are concerned about uninstalling this fix and moving back to your 
previous level, do the following before installing:
  - Copy the JRE directory in default folder C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access
    into a new directory JREBAK.
When you have tested out the new JRE fixes successfully, you can delete JREBAK
to free up disk space.

1.  Run V5R4JRE142SR8.exe (will extract files to a temporary directory and then
    display a Welcome panel)
2.  On the Welcome panel, press Next to update the Java Runtime Environment 
    level (the previous JRE level will be uninstalled, and then the new level 
    will be installed)
3.  Press Finish to complete the update wizard
