5722XE1 V5R3M0 IBM iSeries Access for Windows In this directory is the fix level for V5R3M0 iSeries Access for Windows NonStandard Pc5250 (Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese versions) that is equivalent to the Standard Pc5250 level in service pack SI21917. This is also equivalent to the contents of PTF V5R3M0 5722XE1 SI22407. In particular, the following APARs are fixed: APAR SE22257: CA400EXP-PRINTEMUL ERROR USING HP 4300 PRINTER ON CHINESE Customer is running Traditional Chinese of PC5250 on Chinese Windows 2000 or XP. Customer downloads the latest printer driver from Hewlett Packard for the HP 4300 printer. They start a PC5250 display session or a PC5250 printer session. They click File/Printer Setup, select the driver that they just loaded, and then click on Setup. They receive an error, Function address 0x4f501a32 caused a protection fault. (exception code 0x0000005) Some of all property page(s) may not be displayed APAR SE22427: CA400EXP-TERMEMUL-INCORROUT MS IME AUTOMATICALLY CHANGED TO Customers use Windows 2000/Xp which has two or more languages including Japanese. MS IME is automatically changed to Japanese when the cursor moves to a DBCS field ( J field or G field ) even if the 'Regional and Language Options' of Windows is not setted for Japanese. APAR SE22890: CA400EXP-TERMEMUL-INCORROUT MS IME CHANGED TO JAPANESE Customers use Windows 2000/Xp which has two or more languages including Japanese. MS IME is automatically changed to Japanese when the cursor moves to a DBCS field ( J field or G field ) even if the 'Regional and Language Options' of Windows is not setted for Japanese. This issue and SE22427 are a similar issue, but not same. The following are included also from the superseded PTF SI17784: APAR SE18244: CA400EXP-2-INCORROUT "." PRINTS AS "?" IN PRINT SCREEN TO "." prints as "?" in print screen to locally attached PC printer. APAR SE18374: OSP-PAR PCSXLT001 ERROR GIVEN ON PC5250 SESSION WITH The following error message pop-up occurs when doing Print Screen function from a PC5250 session WS profile that has been migrated from an earlier release. The WS profile contains a Translation section. PCSXLT001 - The file C:\ is not a iSeries Access for Windows code page translation file. APAR SE18575: CA400EXP-TERMEMUL-INCORROUT LOCAL PRINT SCREEN FUNCTION FAIL This problem was discovered on the Traditional Chinese version of Windows XP service pack 2. V5R2M0 of iSeries Access is in use with service level SI16136. If the host code page of the display session is set to 37, a local print screen does not work. If they use code page 937 or 500, the print operation works correctly. This fix package applies to V5R3M0 service pack SI21917 or newer. Please do not attempt to apply this fix to any other release of iSeries Access for Windows, or any older service pack level. If you need to contact IBM Service about problems with these fixes, you should mention that you are using a Pc5250 version with a build level of 20051212 (December 12, 2005). Installation Instructions: -------------------------- Note: If you are concerned about uninstalling this fix and moving back to your previous level - do the following before installing: -- Copy the Emulator directory in default folder C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access into a new directory EmulatorBackup When you have tested out the new Pc5250 support successfully, you can delete EmulatorBackup to free up disk space. 1. Run Pc5250TKP.exe (will extract files to a temporary directory and then display a Welcome panel) 2. On the Welcome panel, press Next to update Pc5250 to the new service level. The install wizard will determine which version of Pc5250 (Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese) is installed, and will install only the fixes for the appropriate version. 3. Press Finish to complete the update wizard If you did not make a backup of the previous level, and find out later that you need to return to that level, you can perform the following: -- Run Selective Setup to uninstall Pc5250 (removes this new service level). -- Run Selective Setup again to a source image (for instance initial install media) and select Pc5250 for installation (installs an older service level)
