Readme file for Client Access/400 SCS print driver. Driver description: SCS print driver for Client Access/400 Driver name: ehnscsw.drv Version: Version 3, Release 1, Level 10, Windows 3.1/95 NOTE: Level 10 is a "special build" driver designed to function differently from the Client Access SCS driver for some devices using continuous forms. Please read "what has been fixed" before installing this driver. This driver may be overwritten if you install a new version of Client Access for Windows 3.1/95. Installation: 1) To install the new SCS print driver, the old SCS print driver must have previously been installed via Client Access and must not be in use by the Windows system or another application. If you receive an "in use" error message, close any open applications or restart Windows. 2) Locate the old version of ehnscsw.drv (usually in the directory windows\system) and make a backup copy of it in another directory or on a diskette. 3) Copy the new version of ehnscsw.drv over the top of the old version. 4) You can now begin using the new SCS print driver. What has been fixed with this level of the SCS driver: 1) Devices using continuous forms (i.e., 5224, 4234, 5256 and 6408) are not automatically reset to the proper page size when a SCS document finishes printing. As a consequence, if an operator manually advances the paper by using the form feed button on the device, it will not advance a full page and the top-of-form will have to be reset. -- Note: The fix to this problem will cause an extra blank page to be output with EVERY document printed. If this is not acceptable to you, do NOT install this level of the driver. -- Note: If you are reporting a problem with this driver, be sure to indicate that this is Client Access FTP site SCS driver, Level 10 (special build). In addition, this level of the driver includes the following fixes that were part of level 9 of the SCS driver: 1) An unsupported attribute error is reported by the AS/400 print writer when printing to a 4224 printer device. 2) An unsupported attribute error is reported by the AS/400 print writer when printing to a 5256 printer device. 3)The version tab is missing on the SCS driver properties sheet.
