Instructions for installing the 3.01.02 version of the IBM AFP printer driver for Windows2000/XP/Vista/7. This version of the printer driver is English only. Three versions of the AFP printer driver are provided. The amd64.zip file is to be used on Windows platforms running on 64 bit AMD or Intel Xeon processors. The ia64.zip file is to be used for windows operating systems running on Intel Itanium processors. The win32.zip file is to be used on Windows platforms running 32 bit processors. 1) Delete all printers that use the AFP driver from the "Printer Folder". 2) Create a temporary directory on your hard disk and save the win32.zip, ia64.zip or amd64.zip file to that directory. 3) Right click the zip file and select "Extract all". When prompted enter the location you installed Client Access as the destination. Use "C:\Program Files\IBM\Client Access\" for win32.zip or C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Client Access\ for amd64.zip if you installed Client Access to the default directory. Select "Yes To All" if presented with the "Confirm File Replace" panel. 4) The new MRI file needs to be manually copied to the Client Access MRI directory. This is done by copying C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Client Access\CWBAFP\cwbafpr.dll and C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Client Access\CWBAFP\odafp.chm to the C:\program files (x86)\ibm\client access\mri2924 directory if you installed the English version of Client Access on your pc or the MRI29xx directory if you installed another language version. 5) The following steps are required only if you are using the amd64.zip file and want to use the IBM Facsimile Support/400 function: a) Save the cwbaffax.zip file to your temporary directory. b) Right click the zip file and select "Extract all". Extract the file to your temporary directory. c) A folder named cwbaffax will be created in your temporary directory. Double click the cwbaffax folder to open it. Drag the "windows" folder to your systems windows folder. This will cause cwbaffax.dll and cwbdb.dll to be copied to your c:\windows\system32 folder. d) Drag the "Program Files (x86)" folder to your systems "Program Files (x86)" folder. This will cause cwbafmri.dll to be copied to your Client Access\mri2924 directory. e) Double click the cwbaffax.reg file to have it installed in your registry. 6) Reboot the PC. 7) Create new AFP printers using the "Add Printer" wizard. On the panel that asks you to "Select the manufacturer and model" choose "Have Disk". Navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Client Access\CWBAFP directory and then choose the printer manufacturer and model printer you have. Select "Replace existing driver" if asked.
