Configuring the Browser

On Windows NT 4.0 and 95, the default browser is Internet Explorer 2.0. The VisualAge RPG and CODE/400 tutorial will not work with this browser, since it does not support frames.

Important: For help to work properly, you need to install a frames-capable browser with JavaScript and Java enabled selected before you start the tutorial.

We recommend Netscape Navigator 4.07 or above, or Internet Explorer 4.01 or above. Other frames-capable browsers may work, but they may handle certain HTML tags, JavaScript, and Java differently. Consequently, the tutorial may not appear to function properly if you do not use one of the recommended browsers.

AS/400 PTFs

In general, we recommend that you load the latest cumulative fixes onto your AS/400.

For the most up-to-date information on available PTFs, go to the VisualAge RPG and CODE/400 Web site at URL:

http://www.ibm.com/software/ad/varpg

Select the Support hyperlink from the left hand frame.

You can link to and view the most current list of AS/400 PTFs from this page.

Be sure to install any required Debugger PTFs. Several of the examples make use of updated AS/400 files in the ADTSLAB library. To try these examples, you need to apply the appropriate ADTSLAB PTFs.

Note:The PTF will add a Savefile ADTSLAB to library QPDA on your AS/400.

In order to use library ADTSLAB for your tutorial, you have to restore library ADTSLAB from this Savefile using the AS/400 command RSTLIB.
