Nways Manager for AIX v1.2 PTF


Install Instructions :

	a - mount the CD-ROM typing
		
		mount -r -v cdrfs /dev/cd0 /cdrom (if /cdrom directory does not exist create it)
	
	b - First stop all your EUIs and daemons
		to stop EUIs, select "File -> Exit" from the menu bar
		to stop all Netviews and Nways Manager daemons, from the prompt type :
				"/usr/CML/bin/cmlovstop"
			if you get the response "cmlovstop not found" you should type :
				"/usr/OV/bin/ovstop"

	c - As root  user start SMIT
		typing "smit"

	d - Select the following items
		Software Installation and Maintenance
			Install and Update Software	

			On AIX 4.1.5 you will see this.

				Install/Update Selectable Software (Custom Install)
					Install/Update From All avalaible Software	

			On AIX 4.2 you will see this.

				Install/Update From All avalaible Software	
			*** NOTE *** 
			On AIX 4.2.0 there is a bug that will not allow you to select
			the ALL option for each component. You must select each component
			individually. This bug is fixed with AIX v4.2.1. You can check which
			level of AIX you have by typing "/usr/bin/oslevel" on the command prompt. 

	e - Enter the input device / directory for software 
		/cdrom  <Enter>  OR    /dev/cd0 <Enter>
		
	f - The Install/Update From All avalaible Software window is displayed.
 	From the "Software to install" field, select the PTF, you want to install corresponding to the 
	components you have previously installed. 
	(Note: You can check what you have installed issuing the following command
	 before starting smit or in another window : lslpp - L | grep -e cml -e ahm -e mgtapp -e rabm )

	g - After step f  is finished you must Reorganize your Database by executing the following steps:
		start SMIT (just like step c)
			Communications Applications and Services
			         	Application Transporter
					Maintain
						Reorganize database

	h - Now you need to restart you EUIs and Daemons buy issuing the following command at the prompt:
						"/usr/OV/bin/ovstart"
						"nv6000"
