The zPDT checker tool (verify4zPDT) is a simple program executable that is to run on a machine to verify that: · The system is running a 64 bit Intel compatible processor · The system is running a supported version of Linux. (Open Suse 11.1, 10.3, 10.2 or RedHat RHEL 5.3, 5.2 are supported) · The system contains at least 1 network port that is compatible with zPDT OSA support Usage: Using any id, cd (change directory) to any directory of your choosing. Down load the verify4zPDT executable to your current directory on your Linux system. (any file transfer needs to be done in binary mode) Give it permission to execute : chmod u+x verify4zPDT execute by specifying : ./verify4zPDT Output from the tool is displayed on the screen that the tool is executed from. The program's output can also be sent to a file by entering the command ./verify4zPDT > myfile where myfile is a file specification of the users choice. The following examples use Suse Linux . As noted above , particular Suse and RedHat distributions are supported. Good result will look similar to : ./verify4zPDT version 1.1.39.16.00 zPDT is supported to run on your x86_64 machine, with Linux os SuSe 10.3 . Number of OSAable devices is 1 If your output looks like the following, then your Linux is at a level we have not tested. ./verify4zPDT version 1.1.39.16.00 Warning: zPDT has not been tested on SuSe 12.1 . Number of OSAable devices is 1 If your execution fails like : -bash: ./verify4zPDT: cannot execute binary file then zPDT is not supported on your platform / operating system. If your hardware platform is x86_64 but your Linux distribution is not Suse or Redhat , you will get the following: ./verify4zPDT version 1.1.39.16.00 Warning: This system is not SuSE or RedHat. zPDT has not been tested on this Linux distribution.
